Differential Questions
« on: July 14, 2011, 10:27:44 AM »
OK, So I had the car up on a lift today to repair a slow leak caused by FOD in my right rear tire.  The last time I had it up, I wiped a lot of grime off the driver's side of the differential.  I looked today and its got new grime on it with new fluid.  Basically the differential seal is leaking.  This has been going on since I had the Recall Fix done a couple of years ago.

Anyway, since I was at the local Chevy Service Center here in Korea where my friend works, I had him ask the service manager if they could repair it.  Here's where it gets sticky...  They can order the part for the Daewoo G2X, but I'm nt sure if it would be the same part number.  So here's my questions:

1)  What is the part number for the driver's side differential seal for the 2007 Solstice GXP Standard Transmission?

2)  Since apparently all the G2X's are automatic, are all the differentials the same for automatic vs standard transmission?

3)  Are the differentials the same for the different years?  All the G2X's are '08s I believe but there may have been some '07s

4) To sum it all up, would the service center be able to perform the repair on my Standard 2007 GXP using parts and service manuals for an Automatic 2007/8 G2X???

In looking at http://parts.nalleygmc.com/ , the 2007 Kappas seem to have the same seal numbers. Same for 2008. BUT, they are showing the NON torque arm style diff. The details of the diff in the 2009 Sols and Skys appear somewhat different, which is odd. That said, the Daewoo is a Sky Redline with different lighting and badging. So, the Daewoo parts SHOULD work.

Here is choice number 2. If you were to PM me with your VIN number, I could contact my Chevy store for correct and current part numbers. THEN, I could purchase them at 10% over true net cost and mail them to you APO address. Cheap parts, cheap shipping, correct parts. PM me if you like.
