Head to Mexico then take a right or just follow the lemmings.

Or you could take a left in Mexico.  Either way will get you to some water.  You might not want to drink it though.

Finally got some Michelin PSS's installed. They're like super glue on the pavement compared to the Eagle F1's they replaced.

Crazy I know! Even with my auto tranny, those F1's are the reason that I couldn't hammer the throttle at any speeds below 50mph without massive wheelspin and if I had the traction control or ETC off, it was somewhat dangerous because it would get really squirelly. (if that's a word...)

It's a night-and-day difference with the PSS's. I ordered them at the end of May and they were supposedly on national back order so I had been waiting on them for a while. The difference in acceleration makes me want to hook up the VCM scanner and log some pulls. I'm sure I can do quite a bit better 40-115 pulls now since I won't be wasting time waiting on the tires to grab though I don't really care to beat too hard on it when the outside temps are over 100F.

While I'm on the subject of sticky tires, my boss took a trip to Bowling Green and came back in this:

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are crazy looking in the tread department. Like almost non existant.

Me neither.  I do like the look and I do like its stats on paper but i just can't give GM that amount of money for a variety of reasons.

That's my fault. I snapped a couple pics before he headed out. Most of the grounds around this place are ugly anyways and the big dumpster has fresh paint on it so it's the greenest thing around here. :D

Did a Cruise In at Fort Mill BBQ Company.  First one for me.  We actually had two 4-bangers there. The others, of course, were some old beautiful American Muscle.

Well...I actaully did some stuff to the Slostice yesterday:

First Item: Old Wind Restrictor was broken into 2 pieces during the May top debacle.  Removed the the light bar off the old one, installed it on the new one, and then installed it on the car.  Verified my 5 year old Extreme Light Kit is still in good working order.  However, didn't receive the combination instructions to install the Glow Module over the top of the extreme light kit.  I'll tackle that later in the week if I have a chance!  And by the way...big difference the hair factor after not having a WR since May!  I remember it making a difference, but didn't think it was that much.  The hair blowing in my eyes between Friday vs Sunday was much less!  I know, I know...you guys all have that problem right?? :D

Second Item:  Attempted to install the DDM short throw shifter.  I say attempted because I ran into some unexpected wear issues with my existing shifter.  Things such as worn flat ball bearings that fell out of the bottom plastic piece.  And the little round bushing/washers that I think provide a seat for the set screw...each found to be in 2 pieces and are no longer in the car.  Luckily, the little, bity, teeny, tiny balls were stuck to my hand and still stuck in the grease of the housing in the car.  Got them back into place (no idea if they stayed there) and sadly put the stock shifter back into the car.

Fawk!!!!  :censor: :gaah:

It was a mess under the shifter boot.  Too many off roading and gravel road adventures while I lived in Illinois I suppose.  I found a nest of dirt under the square plate.  I figure the debris got into the grease and wore the little mini balls flat on one side.  Then that translated up to the set screw and broke the seats.  Waiting to hear back from the good doctor for part numbers and such.  I was so freaking stoked to put in that shifter!!

It's pretty killer.
It's kind of like walking into a perfectly clean glass door.
The shift is done, but you feel like you have 2" more travel.  Eventually you will get used to it.
What's really amazing is that, you still won't miss a shift.  It's just a lot shorter to get there

It's definitely very clean! I was worried I would miss, but no issues at all! I felt pretty comfortable with it after a 20 min drive on city streets with a little highway driving mixed in!

Oh course I'm sure the next time I drive it I'll have to get used to it again! It's only been stock for almost 10 years!

I forget was your car black or was it that carbon flash black (metallic)?

My G6 is the metallic black and it does a good job of hiding minor scratches and paint imperfections.

If you are doing a full repaint, why not choose the color you want?
