Yes you can, don't ask me how I know.

I do remember reading about problems with a few early units. Something about a loose nut behind the wheel - or in front of the wheel - or holding the wheel. Sometimes I fit all 3 of those categories.
The road to success is always under construction.

Working, just working. The Sol was MIA at Dave's for a long while but has been back in her stable since November. It's good to be back, for how long, meh? Who knows...

I installed a ZOK Front Swaybar and am doing some other Minor stuff to Lusi.  Like redid some wiring, replaced a DoorSill light with the newer LED one.
I even tracked down a local who does entire car wraps.   The front of Lusi has taken a beating over the past 7 years.  So it's either respray the hood, fenders and doors, plastidip or wrap.
I'm trying to figure out what color.

With the new turbo you have, you might end up ripping anything other than paint right off.      :D

What happens if I ask?
If you ask, no answer from me, maybe you will get one from my buddy GJ

PS I'll leave it to GJ to make fun of you loosing a nut there Lance Armstrong.
Stop comparing me with Lance, I didn't take any drugs ... I can keep all the trophies.

I do remember reading about problems with a few early units. Something about a loose nut behind the wheel - or in front of the wheel - or holding the wheel. Sometimes I fit all 3 of those categories.
That nut had nothing to do with some guys not tightening the nuts and delivering very slow and not keeping their words about warranty

Replaced both door checks.

Price GM U.S. 16 $ each / Price Opel 40 $ each, guess where I bought them.

Also removed the seals on the tail lights.
Had a lot of moisture in the tail lights so that I would have liked to sing that old song I'm singing in the rain. :banghead:

Next week I will bring my car to a detailer, to much scratches everywhere. :gaah:

Ordered U.S. tail lights (yes I know what I wrote in the other thread).

After reading circuit diagrams for  three days, I'm pretty sure that there is still a stop signal on the turning light wire.

Opel just connected the European stop lights to the high mounted stop light by a relay and changed the wiring of the turning light bulb (direct at the tail light).

If they also changed the configuration in the BCM I have a good friend (Opel dealer) who will reset it.

If that's the way it's wired up, you could also reconfigure the wiring a little bit and diode-isolate your circuits.  Then there's no BCM re-programming necessary.  If you want to go that route, and need further explanation, just let me know and I'll confirm what I'm 90% sure you can do.

Working on sound deadening. Last weekend I pulled the trunk carpet and rear lid and placed Second Skins CLD Damplifier pro, MLV pro and CCF. I wanted to buy from forum vendor but Second Skin is located in Tucson so I couldn't pass up buying local.  I was able to buy B stock damplifier that is well more than enough to cover the car. Which is nice because I can use on my daily driver in spots. I finished the trunk adding CLD's on the lid and a sheet of CCF on the lid. I then added CLD's on the trunk floor, then CCF and then some MLV. My only issue is when the lid closes, it pushes up less than1/4 inch higher. I'm guessing because the top is not going in flat as it did before.

I then needed to repair my side skirts. I had the passenger side off  to remove the battery awhile back and the sticky tape locally did not work well. I was able to obtain more from Norm and I removed the old tape, added CLD surrounding the rear vents and down the inside of the side skirts, bolted back on, peeled the tape off and done. Now I cant help but tap the skirt with my foot everytime I go by just so I can hear nothing. It had rattled because of the nonsticking and the mesh vent made vibration. Now it is all dead quite. Sorry no pics yet

Since I needed to remove the tires when fixing the side skirts, I added my MGP calipers I redesigned and painted. Sorry no pics yet.

Before:

Added CLD tiles (more than needed):

CLD tiles on the trunk floor (tiles have a black foil).

CCF and MLV added:

My Kappa watched as I set a dash kit in my Lambda (GMC Acadia) as an Anniversary gift to my wife (17 years).  :yay:

I then moved to the Solstice and was able to remove rear panels and passenger floor. At first I thought the floor dampening was in good shape until I picked at it and it wasn't even attached to a good amount of the floor? I pulled about a 1/3 off with just sliding a screwdriver under it and pull up.   :worms: Knowing if isn't touching the floor it wont do its job, I then knew I needed to pull the rest off and got the heat gun out. Heat heat heat scrape scrape scrape. I can't believe how good it looked but how poor the product was. Just bad roofing asphalt with a metal top coat to look good. Ah well no cutting corners and slacking here.

The rear wall had some dampening too. Two regular size pieces that were not even sticking to the wall and mostly pulled off by looking at it.  Then 4 little pieces that only had the butyl and a plastic wrap top coat?

Time to go the the store to get the mineral spirits and denatured alcohol to clean the floor off.  :drive:

Having done that job multiple times, I can tell you this-
Don't let the ocd in you make the job a nightmare. Scrape off why you can and start sticking on the new stuff. Cleaning with spirits and reprinting the floor is overkill. But the floor looks cool painted black.

Thank you Dr. GJ,

I just started to scrape from a layer after Spirits and picked up your response. I believe other spirits are a better option for my day.
