Hey Guys, I have to revive this one from the Dead...

My Car has similar issues at the Moment. Got the Timing chains renwed about two months ago and since then, my car still states the EVAP test cycle as "incomplete".
It`s been roughly 2.500km under various conditions, but still the code remains "incomplete".
I did check the valve, it does block the air.

Can you tell me the driving cycle to finish the test?
I read something like:

tank between 75% and 50%
5 minutes idle after cold start (A/C and Defrost ON)
10km+ at a steady Speed between 30 and 60 mph (A/C and Defrost OFF)
5 minutes idle with a warm engine before shutdown
letting the car rest at least 8hrs

Did this cycle twice, but the EVAP remains "incomplete" :cloud:

Is this the correct cycle?

Shouldn't that throw a fault code? :(

I'll check the connections to the evap valve on the intake, are there any more possible connections?

Maybe that valve failed.  Remove it and test it.
Ddm has a video on youtube on how to do that.

I do know those tests take a long time to finish

I am not quite sure... Blowing into the valve, it felt like it was blocked, the way it should be.
Sucking air through it I had the feeling, that it is not totally blocked... :(

I will install a new one anyway. :D

If you have any other ideas please feel free to fire, the valve will take some days to be delivered anyway.

Reviving this thread from the dead...

Two years ago changing the valve did it.
Install new valve.
One cold start.
Done. (EVAP complete)

Two years later I have the exact same problem. But this time the new valve I installed yesterday made no difference...
Plus, the App (torque pro) now flags the test incomplete in red color. (used to be yellow in 2015)
Does anybody have an idea what makes the test fail besides leaks or a faulty valve? And/or why the color changed to Red?  :idk:

This is just a guess:

Red means it is bad

Yellow means it is in the process but hasn't completed the test

The red vs. yellow could just be a matter of a torque software update within the last two years.  As for the "incomplete" status, it seems like you just need a few more drive cycles (Scanner describes what that entails pretty well earlier in this thread) for the test to run.

That is what I thought, too. Would a connection issue trigger a fault code? There are none saved...

I will do so. Just because I hope it will work. I have the GM drive cycle printed in the car. So I can follow it as close as possible on my daily drives...

Guess what. It worked.
Printed out the cycle, followed it daily for a week and all of a sudden the code switched to completed.
Don't ask me why...
The car never fails to amaze me.
