First off let me say I love the look of the track and the way it is laid out in and around the Olympic village.   That is all I will say for now.

Someone pick Elff up off the floor so he can get the remote and watch the race.

Luckily for Elff he doesn't have any hair on his head or he could get stuck in the Velcro on Critters shoes.

Kelu in Elff's defense those dogs horses run pretty fast.

I expected great racing on a track with plenty of places to pass.   It was not to happen, after Nicco's rush to pass in turn 2 resulting in him having to pit and changes his tires, the race turned into a fuel measuring paced race.  Very disappointing.  52 out of 53 laps on one set of tires show that timed, paced laps can put you into second place.

Vettel seems to be bidding his time waiting to leave Red Bull.  In all it was not a great race.  Austin at the end off the month should have us sitting on the edge of our chairs again.

Critterman.
I have to agree this race was not that great, it was kind of boring compare to the other races that were done at the same circuit.

Austin Texas this weekend,  watching P2 now.  Big announcements made in P1.  Also if you get a chance watch "Road to Mercedes".  I found it very interesting.

Tomorrow P3 and then qualifying.  I believe that will be on NBC.

Wow, 2 teams not competing this weekend and Vettel starting from the Pits.
Can't wait to see how qualifying goes.

Is Alonso leaving F1 after this season?

Alonso said in the interview after qualifying, the Ferrari can not compete against Mercedes. Although he also said is Formula 1 an anything can happen.
It will be interesting tomorrow if the track temperatures are cold Mercedes team may have some issues with the brakes.
I will be tune in tomorrow at 3:00 PM EST to see it unfold.

I really like this track.  I have to think these guys love driving in Austin.  Great passing areas, nice long straights, elevation changes.
Whoever designed it did an amazing job.
it was a pretty enjoyable race to watch.   Great races all the way through to the very last lap.  Hell, major contact with 2 laps to go on Grosjean.

Hamilton, at the moment, owns this track.  That was a great move to take first and then he drove super consistent.  Vettel drove very well from the Pit lane.

Last thought is that Riccardo is awesome.   Gotta love his sense of humor with his facial hair.  Uber Chops!!.

While they didn't podium, Williams had a very successful day.  Shame that Masa lost 3rd on a bad pit, but still an amazing season.  Number 3 in the constructors is a huge jump.

Not sure if you guys watch the interviews at the end but they were informative.
Looking forward to the Brazil race and see what happens there, it should be interesting.

Interviews were great, especially Nicco's real smile.  I think he has realized he probably will not win the championship and a great weight has lifted off of his shoulders.   Ham's pass was textbook perfection.   The slowmo of Ham's car through the "S" showing the lateral load were amazing.  Best part of the track.  One of my favorite tracks and great for the viewer.

I missed that.   To me, he just doesn't seem to be done with Ferrari, and IMHO, Ferrari would be stupid to let him go.  He can drive the hell out of anything they build and is instrumental in making their cars better.   He has also been an exceptional employee from a PR point of view.   He could easily complain but he deals with his interviews in a very professional manner.
If he stays, that really makes things interesting.  Ferrari has not confirmed Vettel yet.
I am really dying for all of this to get ironed out and officially announced so we know what the deal is for 2015

I agree LV Alonso gave a great interview.  He seemed more relax and informative without really saying anything.   I am more concerned about the two team in administrative hold (receivership) and if they are coming back.  Also the teams talking boycott because of the possibility of other teams possibly running 3 cars.   Big changes may be in the future.

The FAi needs to make the race a drivers event and less about the power plant.
We like racing and it is only accomplish, if the cars are pretty much equal and is up to the drivers skills to win the race.

We already have that, its called Indycar.  Does anyone watch that anymore?

Racing isn't just about the driver, it's also about inspiring technology changes and improvements between the car builders.

You be surprise how many people do watch Indy races.
Technology improvements are fine, but if you have a team running away with the race, then it is very boring to watch.
Case in point, how the camera follows the middle of the pack or 3rd through 5th place race when those teams are battling it out.
Then at the very end they pan to the 1st place winner.
