Well qualifying was interesting and finally Webber got the job done and qualifies #1 with Vettel #2 and Hamilton #3.
It should be interesting what is going to happen at the start of the race tomorrow.

Yea, that was one hell of lap. Wasn't it actually the fastest F1 lap at that track, but just wont be official since it wasn't during the race?

If I was both Weber and Masa Id ignore any team orders to let my team mate pass.  Masa out qualified Alonso AGAIN

Am I the only one who thinks that Weber's last pit stop was unnecessary?

That gave Vettel the win.  I personally think he could have stayed out and had enough of a lead that even if the tires started giving up lap times, the worst case scenario would have been he would have dropped to second place but definitely not third.

I watched this whole race last night. Crash in turn one at the start, multiple cars not completing more than three laps-
Webber wins the race, but finishes second
Grojean makes a lot if a lesser car

Seems like a lot of teams were just fighting with themselves. Vettle crying like a baby about lap traffic.

Even still- Vettle does get a lot out of his tires. Is he just that much smoother than everyone?

Yeah he is that much smoother.  I was laughing out loud over his comments about lap traffic.  Not sure exactly what he said but it sounded like:

"they won't move over, make them move over" and "it's not fair, they are stopping me from winning the race"

Webber was screwed, blued, and tattooed by his crew and team.

Massa was passed by Alonzo, he didn't let him by.

All in a  very good race.

Yes, all in all a very good race but Webber got screwed by his team.
I am hoping between now and the end of the season he can place 1st, but after this sham by his team is very doubtful.
Elf, I am with you that he could have stayed and won the race, but been more professional than his team mate, he followed the teams orders knowing what the consequence would be for him and a 1st place win.
He was the sacrificial lamb, too bad, although Vettel is an excellent driver, there are others that can beat him as long as is played fair.
This is not playing well for F1 and us fans, I like the race, but I wish the different teams would stop playing games with their drivers.

Yea shit like this is starting to dull my taste for the sport.
The goal of F1 is to have the Team win and they get money for that, so why do they cater to a single driver?
Its very odd

We will see next year when Webber isn't on the team anymore if they can take home the Constructors via a single driver

Ferrari might be closer if they didn't hamstring Masa all the time.
Mercedes,Lotus and McLaren seem to understand this properly

Next season will be interesting.

Is a team effort otherwise why have all the expense to have a second car and driver if you have no support for him/her.
Webber has proven to be at the level of Vettel and is capable of been on the podium as he has done a few times.
The team just wont let him take 1st place period.

I agree.
the way F1 is setup, the winnings are based on the Constructors championship which requires 2 drivers to be successful to win.

Same goes for Ferrari
Currently they are in second place but it's now by a huge margin.
How much closer could they have been if they treated Masa better and allowed him to race, vs asking him to let Alonso overtake him numerous times.
Not to mention, their car just is no where as solid as the red bull.  Last years car was much worse

I agree Elf, the Ferrari saga is not much different in that respect.
Let's hope next year the balance is a little tighter than is today.

Abu Dhabi next week
Thanks, I put that on the DVR already.

I also find it interesting what Redbull is doing with Webber. If Vettel's soft compound brakes off around the 10th lap or so then Webber could win the race this time.
I also find interesting the comments made about Kimi not pushing hard on the Lotus, to let Ferrari get second place in the constructors points.

Dunno if any of you are watching MotoGp, especially the race from last weekend from Malaysia.

Short perquisites:
The track was resurfaced, Bridgestone, official supplier for championship "didn't have the time" to test it.
They discovered during the trainings that the tires won't last the scheduled 26 laps. Ok, they tried harder and harder tires, they end up with almost harder than any tire available and when they tested, they realized is even worse.
First solution, was to drop the laps of the race from 26 down to 19, remember this is the race weekend. Then they realized even 19 laps are too much for the tires, they would last only 14 laps :)

The final decision:
Race is 20 laps but EVERY rider needs to go to the pits in lap 9 or 10 to change the tires, in bikes is not possible a 5-10s pit stops to change the tires, so they had to change the bikes, jumping literately from a bike to the second one, thank god it wasn't raining during the race day because they didn't have the time to setup the second bike at least for rain.

Of course it was a weird decision, the leader of the championship, Marc Marquez, got a black flag scoring zero points even if he was leading in the race because he went to the pits on lap 11 confused by his team mate which went to pits too early.

Damn Bridgestone :)
Dragula  ;) Opel GT  from Romania

6 in a row
4th Championship in a row, 5 years with the team, he was 2nd for the championship the 1st year
Love him or hate him, he and his team are the ones to beat
The only surprise was Grossjean 17th to 3rd.   One hell of a drive

They sure were worried about the car making it home though.
I love how they had to tell vettel to reign it in at the end.
 :D

Aside from his win, the rest of the race was very exciting.
The first lap was fantastic.

What a change in Grosjean from last year.  He is on fire lately.  Major Kudos to Lotus for putting together a great car as well.  The longer wheelbase is really working out for them.

Masa was simply solid and made some killer passes to improve to 4th overall.

Awesome race to watch.
