I watched it.   Pretty crazy about Vettel getting knocked out like that, but in both cases, he slowed down real fast.

Yes he did,  I thought the entire weekend was very interesting.  And there are some very strong running mid field cars,  McLaren did very well as did Williams,

Nico might be tough to catch this year.  If he has no mechanical issues he will be the man to watch.  Ham seems to be taking his issues well, a lot better than Nico did last year.  One thing Ham has proven is that he can pass anyone on any track.

For all his troubles, Ham is still driving amazing.  Mid Pack racing is still the most exciting part of each race.  3-10 is a wide open battle every weekend.   It's great seeing McLaren do so well.   They have 2 world champion drivers, so once that car gets more competitive, look out

That's because of the incident with Vettel in Russia will be my take on it. Riciardo did not have good words to say about in Russia, commenting there was going to be a meeting with the team to go over his antics..

Sounds like there was more to this than those incidents.   In fact, those incident might have been caused by some extra stress of him knowing they were considering this move.  At the moment Verstappen is definitely the better driver and it's hard to fault them for his promotion.   I just finished watching qualifying and there are some amazing laps and a couple of WTF moments.

What is amazing is that all of the cars are 3 seconds/lap faster this year.   And they are still trying to make these cars faster for 2017???

A Red Bull Row 2 and what a freaking insane Pole Position time.
WOW.

Kvyat  at least on this practice the Red Bull team show us the right move was done.
His Toroso partner drove better than him. I think if he does not get his act together he will be gone.
That 17 year old is looking pretty good right now and all that with a brand new ride for him.
It should be an interesting race tomorrow, and the Ferrari boys better bring their A game on or Red Bull will take their place.

Yes a great qualifying time, but after the blothed first attempt I was a bit worried for Ham.  Now if he can only get off the line tomorrow.  The RedBull guys know how to launch as well as Ferrari.  Should be an interesting turn 1, 2, and 3.

I am, I just wish I was able to watch the follow up show.
Personally I think Rosberg is at fault.  It looked like an attempt at a block that went wrong.  Off the F1 web site Rosberg stated the following
Quote from: Rosberg
“I was aware of the situation, I saw Lewis coming closer,” Rosberg explained, “so I went for the usual racing driver action of closing the door as early as I could.

Since the incident did not affect any other teams, and they took each other out, I am happy to hear that the stewards deemed this a racing incident.   Let the next race determine who recovers better.

Once the race resumed, it was a pretty awesome battle between driving and strategy.   The top 4 were definitely going to be Ferrari and Red Bull, but the remaining 6 places had some good action.

One thing that was epic, was how consistent and unwavering Verstapen was.  Kimi was on his ass for 20+ laps and Max did not make a single mistake.   I think Riccardo simply drove his tires off trying to pass Vettel.

Wednesday night on NBCSports Jack.

Supposedly Nico had a wrong setting on his engine management.  The setting Ham had was faster.  Nico didn't realize Ham was closing as fast as he was when he moved over.   Ham on the other hand knew he was and got his front spoiler inside of Nico before he moved over.  Nico moved over to the edge of the track leaving Ham nowhere to go but the grass.  180-190 in the grass doesn't leave you much vehicle control and he lost it.  Spun and came out on the track faster than Nico, caught him and took both of them out.  The stewards demed it a racing incident with no further action required.

The rest of the race was amazing.  Ver and Kimi - Vetle and Riccardo racing lap after lap, matching pitstops and racing lap after lap.  Definatelly the best race by far this year, if not the last 4 or 5 years.

You are correct Max was amazing, especially when you figure the first time he was in the car was Friday.  Different chassis, engine, power band - a completely different car.  And in 2 races they get a new and more powerful engine.
