Thanks Critterman, Vers most be pretty happy to get 2nd place. Also Red Bull gets a few more team points which gets them closer to Ferrari.

Sure hope you had your dvr set to extended time for qualifying.  2 -10 minute rain delays, 4 red flags and that was only Q3.  Q2 was amazing.

I did not have my DVR set for that much extended time, so I am going to watched tonight on CNBCSN at 10PM.
My DVR caught off just as Q2 was almost over.

Probably cost more for the F1 tickets than the airfare over.

I am going to saw no.  Our tickets were not cheap.  BTW, they do not find it funny when you tell the bus driver in England that he is on the wrong side of the road.
LOL

On to the race.
That had to be one of the cleanest starts I have ever witnessed in an F1 race.  It's not like it was dull, a bunch of guys really pushed it and had awesome starts.  Just pretty amazing how no one bumped.
Hamilton was in the zone as was Rossi.  Hamilton was just about 2 seconds faster and held onto first the entire time.  Rossi drove a near perfect race, he just lost it in the first half lap.   The battles between Red Bull and Ferrari were pretty awesome.  I think Red Bull has the advantage and Daniel taking over 3rd place shows it.  What's crazy is how much verstappen has climbed the ranks.  That kid can drive.  If he was sitting in an MB, I think he would be number 1 or 2 consistently.
Mclaren, specifically Alonso had a solid day and race.  Alonso might be hinting at what 2017 holds.  Its a shame Button had issues, because he was fast and in a great position until then.
Another excellent race day IMHO.

I think that Button radio thing was BS.  He did what he should have and reported his peddle going to the floor pretty clear safety issue.  The pit tells him what they think is the best way to deal with it and that's coaching so they get a penalty.  Why even have the radio?

I agree with Elff and SA (God I hate to say that)  but they didn't follow the new rule which states they must tell the driver to pit which would have been the same as the drive through penalty.  Button got his digs back at Bernie and his crownies with his broadcast after his drive through which got picked up and  heard around the world.

Before we get to the race.  Qualification had to be the best one ever.  Q3 a disaster, but Q2 and 1 with the constant changing conditions, the leader board was changing so fast that the announcers  couldn't keep up.  Ham went from first to 15th twice in Q2 and still ended up near the top of the board.

The race was won in the first 2 turns.  Ham and Ros both had great starts as did Ric.  How they got through turns one and two without touching just proves how good of drivers they are.  Ves and Nikki were back at it again,  Ves is going to be a star and battleing for a top ride soon.  Some of the normal back runners where mid pack and Williams what is going on there?

Williams has fallen apart recently and now they seem like they want to blame the drivers?

Masa and Bottas are both solid pro's.  The issue is not with them.  It's with the car and with the team.  They have horrible strategy and horrible pit stops on a regular basis

Qualifying is over, tomorrow is the race.   In the commentary about lack of attendance at this Gran Prix they mentioned that the cheapest seat in the grand stands was 280 euros.  That is $313 in our money.

So is the race not sold out?

Red Bull eclipsed Ferrari again and Daniel sounded real confident in the car after taking 3rd.
This could be the weekend Redbull takes over second place in the constructors.

These cars put down laps 2+ seconds faster than last year.   I think the mid pack race is going to be real interesting again.

There were still empty seats in the stands, not as bad as practice and qualifying.  The announcers did say there were more people here than two years ago.  Ready for the discussion when you all have watched it.
