They had problems with Bottas' gen two engine during practice.  Ham's pass of Vettel was epic.  Shows what DRS can do.  Mid pack racing was amazing.  And team Pink was in the points again.  Great race and I can't wait for Monacco.

Team Pink is really doing great!

The Ham / Vet race was solid. Strategies played a huge roll, but damn. The medium tire is awesome this year. Both cars ran their fastest laps on med compound tires.

I should be receiving royalties from Team Pink.

I forgot to mention the best part of the race.  Liberty media is on top of the game.  Catching that young kid in the crowd bawling his eyes out when Kimi crashed was touching.  But then they went and got him and his family and took them to the hospitality tent to meet Kimi was an excellent 'feel good' moment and shows their commitment to get the fans involved. The interviews in front of the crowd after qualy and then this show of humanity.   Well done Liberty.

Ferrari keeps making blunders on strategy about the tires. The pink team keeps on putting points.
Overall it was a good race, I think the next race will be even more interesting, since it is very difficult to pass during the race.

There was practice today at Monaco since on Friday they do not do it.
For those looking at MB it was not a good day.
Let's see if they can figure out the issues for Qualifying on Saturday.

Both Red Bull teams looked great in practice.  They are going to have a fun Sunday if they can keep that pace for qualifying.

Is there a reason why they don't drive on Friday in Monaco?

Here is a bit of an explanation about the Friday rest day.
While this makes for brilliant viewing and spectacular racing, it does also mean the level of disruption to the city is higher than anywhere else.

Monaco is ordinarily home to fewer than 40,000 people but that rises to around 200,000 during the bank holiday, so organisers have always moved practice back a day to allow the roads to reopen on Friday and allow some movement around the city on what is usually a bank holiday.

There is still some running on Friday - the Formula Renault 2.0 Series cars and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup runners have practice sessions in the morning - but the circuit is open to the public from 2pm onwards until 7am on Saturday morning.

Once again for those MB fans you need to see qualifying......

Need to watch qualifying.............

Whoa!!!!!!

I am dying to see tomorrow's race.

Bummer that Jenson had to change his power unit because he drove very well.

Interesting little 4 leaf clovers on the Ferrari guy's left arms.

Alonso's Indy car had the same reliability as his F1 car.

Fairly uneventful Monaco F1 race except for the one accident that parked Wihrlein on his side.

Vettel was perfect and laid down 2 laps that were literally the difference between first and second.
Hamilton made the best out of his start.

The Hass  team was able to secure points on this race, good for them.
Ferrari look very good although Kimi was not to happy.
Red Bull did good and Perez needs to rethink his actions, that was a dumb move, and as a result it cost the team points they may otherwise have.

I do not see him driving for a Honda based team in 2018
Perez definitely fawked himself.  It's Monaco, where did he expect the other car to go, there is zero room.

Carlos Sainz deserves some major props.  He had an excellent qualifying session and solid race

Relatively boring race, other than the fact that it is Monaco.  Jeeze that place just sweats out money.  I'd love to go there someday and spend a week with someone elses money.

Team Pink didn't do very well.  Some overly aggressive driving by Perez kept them out of the points.  I don't mind the aggressive driving, but he needs to know where he is racing.  Monaco does not favor the aggressive.  It favors the smooth.  Same reason Verstappen will need a few more years before he is ready to win a Monaco.

What is the next race?

It's about a 15hr drive, but I might be in that other French speaking country on the other side of the pond that weekend so I don't know, maybe.  It's actually only three states unless I go the long way and pick up Wartie, Elff, Shiney Reed, etc. Critter you want to go too?
