Thanks melissadunagan!  For the right person it would be awesome.  I can't imagine an engine in excess of 600 HP but 16,000 miles is indeed low mileage.  I always kind of get an itch when someone mentions a big V8, having ounce owned a Bird.  Silver and black are "Raiders colors" but the red interior would look good with it!

What would any one do with 900 HP in a street car other than get in to trouble?

melissadunagan, something doesn't sound quite right.  I am not very familiar with Corvette's however there is a guy that parks his victory red Z06 Corvette near where I park when working out at the Prairie Life Fitness Center here in Olathe, Kansas and today after working out I checked it out and I looked at the id on the vehicle and it stated 405 HP and I was kind of surprised cause I expected a bit more out of a Z06!

Next time I work out there I will try to notice if it's there and find out who the guy or gal is that owns it.  To be honest, our 2007 Aggressive (Victory Red) Pontiac Solstice has better lines than the Z06!  As I have stated before you see so many of them that they loose their charm.  Anyway anyone who has had the opportunity to drive one please chime in on the thread.  Next time I go to workout, I will try to look for the ZO6 again to see if I can identify the owner.

I am sorry GXPinKC not sure what you are asking. The car I am talking about is a Solstice with a LS7 engine in it.
Now the top Corvette is ZR1, and it has the LS7 I think. There is also one that is supercharged. And both of these have more power that the  Z06. The Z06 is one set up from the base Corvette. Does this answer your question?
Now I have a 96 Corvette with the LT4 and it is a very fun car to drive, love the low speed torque. And I do feel it does handle some better than my Solstice.
Now the Solstice has lots less squeaks in it.

Z06's came with 3 different engines. Early ones had a 5.7, followed quickly by the 405HP 6 liter. The LS 7 is a 7 liter 505HP engine. I quick tune and POOF !!!!!!!!! Well north of 600hp without forced induction. THIS is a Solstice I could learn to love, but there are forty five thousand reasons while it will not happen !!!!!!!!!!!!

In reality, adding the cost of a decent GXP, Tremec, LS7, install, harnesses and computer, etc., $45K is not too out of line.

Ok, let's set the record straight about modern Z06 here.

The C5 Z06 came only with LS6 engine (5.7l).  In 2001, the power was rated at 385 hp and in 2002-2004 model years, the power was rated at 405 hp.  A C5 always has a 5.7l V8, whether it's an LS1 (345-350 hp) or an LS6 with updates throughout the model years.  BTW, LS1 and LS6 actual displacement is 346ci.

The C6 line up is a bit more complicated.  A C6 Z06, so far, has only been given the LS7 (505 hp, 7.0l).  A base C6 in model years 2005 through 2007 has the LS2 (400 hp, 6.0l).  Model year 2008 through current has the LS3 (430-436 hp, 6.2l).  The ZR1 (C6, not to be confused with the ZR-1 which is a C4) has a supercharged LS3 dubbed the LS9 (638 hp, 6.2l SC).  The supercharged 6.2l in the current generation Cadillac CTS-V is called an LSA (556 hp, 6.2l SC) and it's considered a detuned LS9.

Recently, I looked into V8-converted Kappas and I found I could not justify it.  It cost about the same as a C6 Corvette after everything is said and done.  The power-to-weight ratio is similar to a C6 as well since the conversion adds weight and puts it right to a C6 weight.   A couple other shortcomings are the weaker differential/final drive and the fender wells of a Kappa can't take wider tires.  And if the aim is the Z06, it will be very hard to match its aluminum frame, composite body panels, and magnesium cradles/subframes.

That said, I still want a Kappa with an LS7 or LS9, I just need a lot more money to overcome my common sense.  Yes, I fully understand the saying, "more money than sense" ...

I have an 07 cammed and pumped up c6 in my driveway. Its north of the stock C6 Z06 power level

As it sits, its terrifying to stand on. I would never take of traction control. And it has the Z06 wheels (345mm tire)

A kappa will never get that power on the ground at any speed under 60. Short of tubbing the rear out and getting some huge tires on it. At that point, you will pretty much be making a custom car with a kappa body sitting on it. It would probably be cheaper and less time consuming to set kappa panels on a custom corvette frame.

Corvettes have their place, and Kappas have theirs. I am not a huge fan of trying to mix the two.

The point of the LS7 is that it already has those.  It is very close to a race motor for the street. Which is why they cost $13K!

The supercharged 6.2l in the current generation Cadillac CTS-V is called an LSA (556 hp, 6.2l SC) and it's considered a detuned LS9.

The LS9 also has a 2.3L TVS supercharger vs. the smaller 1.9L unit found on the LSA.

With a motor that big, I am not sure why you would want forced induction, unless it was a drag car. But that is just my opinion.

I have the LS-2 in mine and It put 368HP to the rear wheels, but with the stock Goodyear tires, It's hard to get It to hook-up to the pavement but I'm not into racing anyway. As is It is a beast  of a car (hence the name) and It cost sightly less then a basic Corvette and In my opinion looks a lot better (sorry Corvette owners). Bottom line is It has more then enough power for such a light roadster, is a blast to drive and sounds awesome.  :drive:
