Did another check on GM Patrs Direct

Handle outside Right - Coupe - Coupe     05-07    MSRP $64.44    There Price $39.54

Handle outside Left - Coupe - Coupe     05-07    MSRP $52.14    There Price $31.99

These are for the 05 - 07 the 08 are cheaper not sure of the difference.

1st design Right - Coupe -      2008    MSRP  $30.30    There Price  $18.60

1st design Left - Coupe -       2008     MSRP $47.21     There Price  $28.96

Can't answer the shipping question as I tried to do a check out to see but it wants me to contact them to confirm the correct parts since I did the search without a part number.

The correct part number from the 07 and 08 Solstice and Cobalt would be nice then we could compare.

As I said there are numerous versions there is even a before and after Nov 2006 which includes the 2007s.
Call them and give them the VIN number above and see what they tell you.  We know that one works -- it is on Cheers.

Looks really great, I had looked into this long ago but never got around to doing it, it was after I saw a yellow Cobalt with matching handles that it first crossed my mind. I have zeo chrome on my car and really want to do this, I was going to do black, then I was going to do yellow, then I was going to do black.... see why it never got done.

Just a suggestion Lil Goat why not paint one yellow and one black that way your covered?  I mean how many people see both the driver and passenger side at the same time?  Most people probably wouldn't even catch the difference.

Do y'all need additional VINs? I have both a Cobalt and G5 sitting in the dorm lot behind my lab building with "our" door handles, both with key holes.
I'd rather be driving! :D

Usually one VIN will allow you to get the correct part numbers from the dealer.  Thanks for looking.  Are the G5 the same part numbers.  Get that VIN!!!

EDIT:  Have done!   2007 Pontiac G5 VIN = 1G2AL15F277355224 .

BTW, gmpartsdirect lists the part numbers as 15803507 (right) and 15803519 (left).

Unfortunately, we are in a campus-wide hiring freeze due to budgetary constraints. I get a new chemist for my department before Humanities gets another historian. Sorry. :(

GM PARTS DIRECT answered my question on the door handles using the VIN off of the car my painted handle was taken from:
Quote
Per your supplied VIN
Here are your part numbers you requested.
15803519 Driver side outside door handle (unpainted)(vehicles built
prior to 11/20/2006)
15803507 Passenger side outside door handle (umpainted)(vehicles built
prior to 11/20/2006)

I loaded these part numbers in their web site and got this
Quote
15803507
Door Outside Handle
HANDLE
$39.54
shipping
$12.95
subtotal
$52.49

*15803519
Door Outside Handle
HANDLE
1
$31.99
shipping
$6.72
subtotal
$38.71

Non-NC Residents Total:
$91.20

There might be cheaper places --- I'm going to wait until Monday to call my junk yard connection.

For any of you who don't know there are two screws and two bolts that hold the interior door panel on.

The two bolts (7mm) are behind and below the door hold.

The door cover then is carefully pulled away from the door plastic push screws are holding it on at this point.

Once the door cover is loose, lift up and away from the door and window.

Remove the door handle cable by releasing cable and lifting up on the cable.

That piece behind the doorhold... just pry it out with a flathead, to get at the 7mm bolts?
Any more detail on removing the door lock cable?

Was unable to find a good step-by-step thread on removing the interior door panels on either the Solstice or Sky Forums.

Also, is there any technical reason why both handles must have the door lock holes?
It seems that the driver's side is enough and may just get a Cobalt passenger side without.

Looks like this procedure is done with the windows... down?

 :usa: Thanks.

Window has to be up to gain access to the bolts.  The door lock lever is self explanatory once you get the handle out of the door.  Just slide it off the plastic grommet and slide it on the new one.  Pull back the handle while inserting back into the door.  Tape on to the door to hold while you insert the bolts.
