I went through a number of on-line junk yards  (http://car-part.com/ is the best)  and only found one.  Finally broke down and ordered the other from GMPartsDirect (the cheapest for four dealers I looked at)

Got a set from an '07 Pontiac G5 I found on the car-part site. Thanks. Should be here soon and hope to install this weekend. It was mentioned earlier in this thread that those would fit. Am still weary about pulling the interior door panels without wrecking something...

Whoa, did the loop-de-loop... :drag: and three laps later...  :brnout: back to the beginning of this thread. Think I'm getting dizzy  I see the bolt behind the inside door handle, just not sure how to get at the others behind the little triangular piece by the door-pull?

HUH

There are two bolts in the back of the handle and one at the front -- along with the clip.  The bolts behind the inside pull  near the door hinge are NOT part of the process

The two bolts (7mm) are behind and below the door hold
(Image removed from quote.)

These 2 bolts holding on the interior door panel. How do we get to them?

So to clarify- do we buy two left (driver) side Cobalt handles or am I missing something? Kinda confusing, but I am looking to do this very soon. Does anyone have part numbers for the door handles? That would clear things up for me. I definitely want the primered handles. Thanks guys for all of the hard work. Looks great.

I don't think the left will fit the right side and vice versa  There are two different right sides, one with a hole for the key and one without.  How often do you unlock the right door with a key?

My Nissan truck doesn't have a key hole on the right side.  I have owned it since 2003 and just noticed about 2 months ago.

i don't think we can EVEN unlock the door with the key.  The alarm goes off if it was set with the fob.

But i guess having the ability is always better than not.

Cheers & Lil Goat -

Are the new handles you painted made with the same screw mounting posts that are prone to snapping off like the originals?

Just asking...

Thanks

Yes they look to be the same, I really want color matching door handles, I would hate to paint billet ones.

I would love some matching door handles.  Getting rid of those and the silver windshield surround makes such a difference

lil goat,

Did you get a chance to install the fuel pump muffler yet?  I have one and havent had a chance to try and install it yet.  Want to know your experience installing it.

Yeah if a vendor came out with color matching door handles I am sure people would pay around 150$ for em.
