P0107 - should I change the MAP manifold sensor?
« on: August 27, 2011, 02:57:01 PM »
In last week I keep having
Quote
P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

After I delete it it comes back within 30 minutes.

There is any way to test if the sensor is broken or not? Measure something?

I'm on factory MAPs (2.7b), there is a place for a good price for them? Thinking to buy both because here opel is asking 150$ for one.

Do you have access to a scan tool or UG type device or calibration system that will let you look at the input voltage as seen by the ECM?  If not do you have a good high impedance digital voltmeter?  These are the basics for checking the circuit.

Be sure to check your connector(s) leading to the MAP sensor. I had a similar issue and after disconnecting, cleaning, and reconnecting the connectors, the CEL did not reappear.
I'd rather be driving! :D

Ok Kelu, it looks like you have the tools!  Key on, engine stopped, note the MAP kPa or voltage.  Start engine, MAP pressure and voltage should drop immediately.  If P0107 is current these things won't happen, not to worry.  The most likely cause is connections.  Underhood diconnect the MAP sensor and inspect connections.  Key on, engine stopped: VERY CAREFULLY check the grey wire for +5V, check the tan wire for less than +.1V.  If grey is less than 4.8V there is a 5V sourcing problem, check circuit for open or high resistance back to ECM and shared sensors (see schematic), if tan is greater than .1V look for a ground circuit problem like open or high resistance.  If these are ok: Jump green to grey, observe MAP on UG or HPT, the reading should be max kPa or voltage, if not check circuit back to ECM for open or high resistance.

Clear Skies!

The report:

grey wire - 4.95V
tan wire - 0.00V  :idk:
green wire - 0.00V too  :idk:

Jumped green with grey with engine on and Map on UG was showing 1.45 (bar iirc) which means maximum boost iirc.

Seems like the sensor is shot. THANKS SCANNER!!!
