New to the forum and my Solstice
« on: October 03, 2011, 09:47:29 AM »
Hello All,
I figured I would introduce myself, since I've been lurking around here since early May, that's when I bought my 2006 Deep Solstice NA. She's stripped, crank down windows, cloth seats, no DIC, no frills, no thrills. Bought her with 38,000 miles. This picture was taken the day we picked her up. Since then she's gotten the Opel antenna, sun visor mod, dual spring mod, and the "GM" chicklets are gone, I will be debaging her sometime soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. The site has been very helpfull.
@SKY888, since I joined in May, I've moved. I forgot I filled out my location as Southeastern, Ma.  I've changed it to reflect the move to RI.
I've enjoyed all the 4,000 miles I've put on her. I'm very happy my wife convised me to buy the Sol.

Welcome 06Berry!  This is a great forum and I'm sure you'll learn a lot and make a lot of great friends.

Hopefully when Spring rolls around we'll see you at some Kappa events.

kappas came with the option to not have electric windows?

Yes, one of the marketing ploys during the original release of the Solstice in '05 (as an '06 model) had a stripped down version available for less than $20K ($19,995 including destination charge).  This was the bare bones version with almost no features, not even A/C or power door locks.

And you made me go digging, but the original 2006 N/A Solstice offering was:

Standard Comfort and Convenience Features:

Adjustable steering wheel
Dual reading lamps integrated into the inside rearview mirror
Three front cupholders
12-volt auxiliary power outlet
Rear window electric defogger
Power remote trunk release
Illuminated trunk
Tire inflator kit
ETR AM/FM radio with CD player, includes seek-and-scan, digital clock and a 6-speaker sound system

Note: Air conditioning is available as an option on all Solstice models for added comfort and convenience.

Available Solstice Sound System Upgrades Included:
ETR AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback, includes RDS, seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control, speed-compensated volume and Theftlock.
ETR AM/FM stereo with in-dash 6-disc CD player, MP3 playback, RDS, seek-and-scan, digital clock auto-tone control speed-compensated
volume and Theftlock.
Available sound system features:
Monsoon premium speaker system features 225-watts of power, amplified 7-speaker audio system and a subwoofer located behind the passenger’s seat for an optional listening experience.
XM Satellite Radio with coast-to-coast digital programming of more than 150 channels.

Upgrade packages included:

The Power Package (ZQ2)
Power door locks
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
Power windows
Body-color outside rearview mirrors with power remote control

The Convenience Package (ZQ3)
Cruise control
Driver Information Center
Fog lamps

The Premium Package (PCQ)
3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel
Steering wheel accessory controls
Leather seating

Oh, and let's not forget the Smoker's Package, which was a plastic cup with attached lid to put your butts in and the cigarette lighter to plug into the power adapter, also available at an additional charge.
