As some of you know, I'm currently deployed. I expected to be home within the next few days... My wife and I have a 2 bedroom cabin reserved in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN for Oct 23-29 that I unfortunately have to cancel. Due to transportation delays and post-deployment commitments, I'm not going to make it home in time.
Would have been an awesome time to be there, as it should be right past the peak of fall colors in the Smokies and close to Deals Gap / Tail of the Dragon. We were really looking forward to our trip! They are willing to give us a raincheck, given the circumstances, but there is no good time for us to use it, as we won't have a babysitter past November 4th and anytime the kids would be out of school, I'll be in training... and we're moving back overseas after I'm done with the training. So now we're probably just going to forfeit our deposit... I hope they'll just allow us to recoup our deposit if we can find someone else to take our reservation.
