While not a bad idea, the beauty of this Turbo kit is that it's just below the Go-Boom level of our engines.
that, however does not mean that this kit does not give one hell of a ride.
it will overcome TC in first through 3rd with no issues.

More HP requires internal engine work and also wider/grippier tires to effectively put the power to the ground.

This turbo is said to give 350-370rwhp on a stock car. We here that are interested in that upgrade have catless dp, high flow mufflers, upgraded ic and intakes. Considering those Dave said that the car can give up to 410rwhp. Is that safe for a stock motor? Thanks....

As long as your tune is not knocking or running lean, you should be ok, but at that HP, you definitely want to monitor it.

So your opinion is to just not reach that level of hp if you can't afford moding the engine, right? Have you dynoed yours? Your engine is stock? I believe that Vince would know were to take the power, what i do not know is how much of the ''engine running safe'' he is able to see from the logs and how much power it can handle....

I have not had mine Dynod yet.  Actually found out recently that I have a shop in my town that has a Dyno.   Not too expensive either. $65 for 3 pulls.

DDM has rebuilt a bunch of engines, so I would go by whatever they say is safe.  They tuned mine and Millers and started off mild and worked up from there always checking for knock and keep the engine in a safe area while still pulling out some major HP.  So I really think the key here is the tune.  If that is good, I don't see you having any issues.

I have nothing against Vince, but once you are tuned with him, you are stuck with him and can't really do your own logging outside of adding gauges that monitor certain things like knock and AFR.

With HP Tuners, you can monitor the car yourself with your our laptop and software, then go back and forth with a tuner, and or interface with the people on the HPT forums.
Only issue with that is I am not sure if HP Tuners supports the Opel GT fully even though it's the same car.

We don't know how to use hpt and we don't want to risk playing with the cars ourselves. If i am correct, with hpt you can somehow tune the car by your own, correct some parameters etc, i trust Vince more in this than i do myself. However, just for the story, it would be interesting if someone explained how this works with hpt, so we find out whether it's easier the one way or the other. I, like you, believe that because our cars are the same as yours there won't be any issues, but you are right in the fact that once you go with Vince you don't want to change tuning process, he is easy really, the only disturbing fact is the logging, you have to get out in the streets and log again and again until you get satisfied with the tune he sends you. The same goes with hpt? Those logs are a pain in the ass, wish we could avoid them....

Well I have HPT for a few reasons, but the main reason is that it makes tune trouble shooting a breeze. Just log and send to Dave. He can adjust and make it work for you car.

Plus you can bounce it off many people as a ton of tuners use HPT. Trifecta you just have one source.

With HPT you can read your stock tune and send that to a tuner using HPT.
They can then modify it and send it back to you so you can use HPT to upload that to your car
You can do logs and then email them to the tuner with your current tune. They can make changes and email them back.
So that is the same as with Vince

What I like about the HPT option is you have visibility in the entire process.  You can look at your own logs and see what the car is doing.  You can look at your tune.  While you may not be comfortable modifying the tune, this visibility will help you learn more about the car and tuning process and allow you to see an issue. Ie; knock and which cylinder you have it.  What your airflow looks like, timing etc.  If you think the car isnt running correctly, go for a ride, log it and then look at it yourself
And as miller stated you have a whole forum of support on HPT on top of just your tuner

FYI DDM sells HPT now so you could buy it at the same time as the above kit.
Hint hint

Wow thanks a lot Dave, you explained everything! The problem here will be that if i have the option to mod the tune, i might do it, and i might do it wrong, but that's another story. I went through their forum, gave it a glimpse, so so interesting but seems so hard, don't know if it really is. Using hp tuners, you can also mod any tune in any car? Even if it's not a kappa?

You can tune most Domestic (American) engines/transmissions. They have support for most popular American engine types. They are listed on the site.

And the HPT forum is pretty good about helping each other out with stuff. Its always nice to be able to learn and read the forum rather than just accept tuning as "computer stuff" from others.

Miller I'd like to commend you on your turn around. You kept whining about having to buy HPT tuners and now you're the one singing its praises. Obviously it's a great product.

Can't beat DDM's support.  This way, you can buy everything from them.  Turbo Kit, HPT and the Tune.

I really think that's in your best bet.
I just remembered
Westers Tuned Kelu's car, so that should end the question on HPT working on the GT

I think i'm like Miller, whining about having to use hp tuners, but if i do then i will recommend it at any chance. What bothers me is that i have already paid for the trifecta cable and if i buy the turbo i will only have to pay 210$ to Vince for the tune. I'll see what i'll do, you did put me in a lot of thinking. Thank you for the support, i really appreciate it!

Kagem, the one thing to remember is you get 8 credits with HPT.  It takes 2 to set it up for one car or six to set it up for a model and year.  So for 6 credits all your GT buddies with the same model year could use it on their cars ( and split the cost)
