the opening where the hose or tube would attach. I figured itd be more round or oval shaped.

yeah, i had the same thoughts when i first started it, but i didn't want to use any other tubes other than the stock ones that lead to the wheel well.
so this shape is exactly the shape that the factory tubes have. i wanted this to be a plug n play solution, with no other extra pieces required.
when it gets painted, i am pretty sure it will not stand out.
i must say, the pictures don't do 100% justice to the product.

I would love a piece that would replace the whole light assembly/ grill piece into one funnel. So instead of the solid piece of abs i have there now, thered be the ducting. I think thatd look badass. Kind of like yours, that doesnt look like an off-the-shelf piece modded in, but like its meant to be there with the curves of the bumper.

 :yay: :yay: :yay:

i got the final product after all.
the difficult part for the fabricator was to duplicate the factory mounting points, coz the factory piece is so weirdly designed.
he insisted on painting it satin black instead of glossy black, so i followed his advice.

final product has perfect fitment and is IMHO a very beautiful upgrade for the bumper.
it has made the front looks much more aggressive.

pls note once again that this is not a performance product, just an exterior mod.

i have had a couple of guys here in Greece interested in this, so i asked the fabricator to give me a price if anyone wants to buy it, since he has the mold now.
price is 200 euros (plus shipping, which i can arrange). lead time is 7-10 days. if anyone wants them, pls let me know via pm.
if i order to him more than 5 sets, then price is 180 euros

for the record this is what i also paid him-200 euros (although at first he told he estimated it at 100 euros. then he came back to me and told me that he underestimated the work to be done and final price would be 200 euros, with which i agreed).

opinions are welcome!

If I only had a Sky I'd get one of these in a heartbeat. I really wish someone would make something like this for the Solstice.

Nicely done,

Popo malaka, forget about air ducts, I desperately want those mystique black headlights. How much for those?

200E? Hmmm, Greeks are pretty expensive indeed, if these were made and sold by a german tuner would cost at least 500E.

Thx Bob! i hope this design will inspire someone to make something similar for the Sol

@ Kelu

headlights are on their way to paradise to become "angels" by the same fabricator.
i liked the German Steinmetz front spoilers that cover the same part, but since they were too expensive i decided to do something new and fresh.

George ;  your fabricator did a great job keeping the fitment holes in the same location. Maybe you could make some kind of DIY template and parts list for Sky Owners. This way it could Cut their cost in oversea shipping .Just thinking out loud .

J Bond, if there is interest in USA and Canada and there's a fabricator there (preferably an official vendor of KP forum) who can make them and sell them for less, i could easily buy a set for the N. American vendor and ship them to him to duplicate them.

on the other hand, a vendor could also try to fabricate a similar design (so that he won't have to buy a set from Greece, but rather start from scratch)

i still owe some pics out in the sunshine, where i bet they will look even better (as soon as i have my hedalights on)

Bob, i have no idea how to fabricate them myself, so a diy will not be a good idea. the fabricator (based on his experience) worked on them for one and a half month to make the mold, keeping the same mounting points, different shape, same ending so that the stock air ducts that lead to the wheel well would fit and also to eliminate any fitment issues of the bumper (in order for the products not to hit  the foam of the inner part of the bumper)

These are awesome!  I think there is definitely a market here in the U.S. 200E is a little steep though.  Not having paid much attention to the stock ducts, do these have a bigger opening?

Group buy MAY be the way to go on these guys. I don't know as I'm not the one makin' them but if he's got say, a dozen sets to make up, it makes fabrication costs a lot less.

A group buy might bring the costs down quite a bit. I wouln't even ask for a template as he's put all this work into them up to this point and to ask that wouldn't be cool but that's just me.

Is air supply an issue?

Notice: in the above, air supply is not capitalized, therefor preventing the comment from actually being about Air Supply, which actually is an issue for some people.

I have a feeling a cool air supply may be an issue for me. Just thinking out loud.

I want to do a similar air duct mod as Arabas did, but I want to as delete my lower signals/fogs as well.
