I have a GMPP-equipped 2007 GXP and I've been thinking of a Trifecta tune (I like the select a tune feature).

What I want to fix is to make the throttle response better (more like a cable throttle) and get the turbo to full boost earlier than 3500rpm.  Plus, a couple extra PSI never hurt anyone.  Would the Trifecta cure any of those problems?  I had a tune done on my old CX-7 and it was a completely different vehicle - the throttle response was instant (it was probably a little bit too touchy) and the turbo had a wave of power at 2500rpms (both K04 turbos, not exactly the same but close enough).

Hi ebrown,

A tune does further optimize throttle response and boost as compared to GMPP.  Check out the dyno charts on the Solstice page on the website in my signature. You can see power coming on quicker.  There is a definitely a difference in throttle response and TQ but not hugely dramatic compared to GMPP as stock tune.

a good aftermarket tune is said to be better thsn the gmpp tune in all aspects. power, tq, throttle response, even KR.
i have a Trifecta tune for almost 3 years.
i chose it for 3 reasons: Vince's good name, select a tune and ease of ordering and installation.
haven't had any problems so far and i like it!

I've recently had installed the DDM Stage ll turbo upgrade, with the BOV, coupled with the Trifecta tune, and have to say that the mid range is unfrigg'nbelievable.  :tool: The boost regularly hit 24 psi quickly, consistently, and in all gears. Something the Hahn tune could only do occasionally, downhill with a tail wind. Top end is about the same as it was with the Hahn tune, but getting there is much much quicker. I've discovered a new warning that I never saw before; The "Low Traction" warning has popped up a few times, even when hard shifting from second to third. When I blow hard off the line my eyes are on the tach/boost, because it slams into the red line so dang fast.  In short: This thing kicks butt, and was the impetus behind the Ghost getting a shiny new set of roll bars.  :brnout:

Having said all this: I need to add that the mechanic, who did the install, had some issues with the tune,  but both Dave and Vince were completely helpful with him to get this thing on the road. My job now...is to keep it there.

Yes, that is correct until Sept 8th.  This is also the premium tune that includes datalog review.  Although, due to volume, the datalog review may be a couple of weeks.

One more question - will the cable work on my wife's redline or is it vehicle specific? In other words can we buy a trifecta tune for her car at a future date and use the cable I will buy now?

Thanks GJ! It's good to be back. I cruised through SD in the Ghost today on my way to, and through TJ. I managed to slow down below 100...at the toll booths.  ;)

Thanks - got your PM.  To second the answer the cable works with most GM 08 and newer vehicles for tune loading, datalogging, reading and resetting codes.
