na zok vs lnf zok
« on: February 11, 2012, 01:36:12 PM »
I realize that they will be softer than the gxp zok as theyre basically fe3 springs, but what im curious about is the ride height with the 2 perches installes. I found a set of na zoks that i ordered for $325 off ebay. Bolt in brand new for that i couldnt pass up. Later on down the road i can just get the gxp zok springs if i dont like this setup.

Anyway, what im getting at, is with the two perches installed, how will that affect the ride height? Will it be the same as my car sits now or will it lower it a touch? I know that removing the first perch will lower more still it but that isnt what im asking. Remove the fe2 and install the zok, what will it look like? (after it settles of course)

It should be the same as your current height.
Removing the one perch will not lower your car worth mentioning.  Once settled expect about 1/2" lower at most 1"

The shocks are the same for the NA ZOK  and the LNF ZOK combination.  the LNF ZOK springs have a higher spring rate [37N/m]  than the na ZOK springs [30.5 N/,] which like you said in your first post are the same as the FE3 Springs [30.5 N/m]  The difference is the FE3 springs have a Higher Check Height which translates into a taller spring

Here is a chart that was uploaded by Flash's Owner who is one of the guys who helped design and build our precious Kappa's

If you are concerned about height and want the higher spring rate of the LNF ZOK springs, I have a set of GM SPO Perf Parts Springs I'd be willing to sell.

My current setup is GM SPO Shocks on LNF ZOK Springs.

Thanks. I saw that list over on the other forums but have no idea what the first number (3xxxn) means. I guess thats were you figure out the check height your talking of? But Im not to worried about the height. Just wants something to tone down the 4x4 look. These blizzaks dont exactly help the cause at all either. They just make the issue worse with the giant nub treads they have.  :D If they do lower as much as you say they may, with that and the added stiffness, Im sure ill be more than happy with the setup thats comming though.... for now.

The 3xxx is the check height.  It corresponds to to the height of the spring.  So,I think you will get what you are looking for.

It should be the same as your current height.
Removing the one perch will not lower your car worth mentioning.  Once settled expect about 1/2" lower at most 1"

Was doing alot of searching on solstice forum and found that without the perches, alot of measurments say the front air dam is ~1.5" from the ground. Even a guy who had the na zok kit on his car ended up with the same results after settling sans second perch. The measurement at my air dam right now is around 3" and, with those measurements, would put the car around 1.5" lower taking the second perch out.

So, like you said it would be safe to say that leaving the perch in, 1" should be the expected lowering putting these on? Just dont want to make the mistake of taking it out and not being able to drive the thing then ripping it all apart again to put them back in.

I would not want to leave that second perch on. That was for the assembly line.
Not sure what effect that might have on the road.
It's your vehicle though
