Here's how we do it in KC
« on: April 01, 2012, 10:20:23 PM »
This was my first run, but my last was quickest, and most ..... ummm ........ dramatic. But the camera battery had pooped out.

http://youtu.be/SOYSVydfSOQ

When A6s are squealing, there is not much left. Not sure I have the fuel feed issues resolved, but that will have to wait for Lincoln. Fresh Konis and upstream O2, and the car is pretty "brisk". BTW, I now have CarboTech AX6s all the way around. Better.

Nice run Bob, looked a little slick towards the end.  Looked fast as well.  How did you place?  Did your co-driver run?

Day the video was shot that Miller linked was two summers ago. The temps were north of 100. That towel was a great place to pour on cold water. The run showed there IS a lower limit of air pressure on Hoosiers.

Critter, the big left 180 ran slightly downhill, it's crowned, and that is the perfect storm for getting the ass end out. On my last (un-videoed) run, I hit the rev limiter (~60mph) exiting the first slalom and blapped blapped blapped all the way through the second one to that sweeper and nearly lost it 3/4 through. Still was my best time and would have been a crusher if I had been a bit more patient. Riding the rev limiting is truly a helpless feeling.

There were a bit more than 100 people there, and I was alone in my class. I expect to be in the top ten in PAX which is how I measure myself (locally) now. We have multiple national Solo champs in the Region so I can gauge against them. No co-driver this  year. THAT will not happen again.

Looks like a bit of a bump 23/24s into the video as the car squirts a little for you.  I never did ask you what you're running for exhaust, as mine sounds a bit louder and more harsh than yours.  I believe you are catless... and I have a hi-flo cat (I still drive mine on the street, and have a conscience apparently) with straight pipes.

Anyway... our first event in Michigan isn't for 3 weeks yet, and I've currently got the car up on jack stands doing a bit of work.  I still need to get it corner balanced (once my buddy returns my scales), and I'm hoping to do something about my seats as well.

Looking good.  I saw you registered for the Memorial Day event.  I *might* decide to head out to Lincoln for that, haven't confirmed anything yet (heck haven't checked to see when registration closes even).  I see Hoosier's contingency changed (IIRC).  I thought there needed to be five drivers previously, and now it's five cars?  There's only three in class currently, I'd make a fourth.  I won two tires with my one National Tour win last year... I'd like another two please!

Looks like I'm going to get a chance to ride with your co-driver at a Evo School too... maybe he can give me all your secrets?  :)

@ rlhammond - catless, 3" single into a 14" SP resonator. No secrets for Andy in share. I already told you everything - warts and all. My "secret" is to have a quality pilot in the car and it runs/handles better.  :violin:

@miller - my steering wheel was trying to rip my hands off.  :gaah:  It was a survival move.

I'm only teasing you... you and I have shared a lot of information on our setups.  I suspect Andy would do much better in my car as well, compared to me.  :)

I've run into a snag... been trying to order new springs for my coilovers and they seem to be backordered!  Crap... I have my car torn apart already and sitting on jack stands, and have an event pror to when the springs are to arrive.  I really don't want to put the car together, to take it apart, to put it together again!
