Sorry Mr. Jack, didn't mean to shine a spotlight on your beverage consumption (or lack thereof). When I saw the name Gentleman Jack I naturally thought Jack Daniels since my dad is a fan. I'm a vodka guy myself ever since I stole a fifth of JD from my dad's cabinet (long story and an even longer night) in my younger days and consumed it bottle to lip. However I did thoroughly enjoy my tour of the Jack Daniels facility a few years back. I've had the good fortune to travel to many parts of this planet and ol' JD is always there.

I'm really looking forward to Lexington next year. I hope to meet many of you guys there.

Back to the subject of springs; I found the spring perch I was asking about in post # 119 http://www.crateenginedepot.com/Spring-Spacer-15917514-P17489.aspx just in case the LNF ZOK springs are a bit too low for my tastes. I can use them to raise it back up.

Yes you will need to do an alignment. There are threads about using different alignment settings, you might want to do some research and see if one of the other setups will work better for what kind of driving you plan to do.

For optimal performance, yes
but
This will not lower the car enough to change the geometry to the point where it will be absolutely necessary or affect tire wear.

So don't worry yourself about getting that done immediately

I ordered the springs on Oct. 30th. and I called about them today. The nice lady looked up the order and said "hummmm" OK that didn't sound good. "do you mind holding for a bit?" OK not any better. She came back on and said "the rear springs are at the warehouse (in stock) now and the fronts will be in on Monday but national inventory shows no more inventory for the rears now"

So looks like the LNF ZOK springs may be gone. If anybody tries to order them be sure to ask them to check national inventory first. This is with gmpartsdirect.com

EDIT: Sometimes I re-read my post and even I'm confused. Basically I'm getting my springs next week but she showed no more inventory available anywhere for rear springs

I ran into a similar situation with the exhaust manifold. Mine arrived yesterday. That means there are only 4 more in the wild and they are in dealer inventory. None are in the warehouse.

Hey stungjoe, watch out on those rear ZOK springs. We learned the hard and expensive way that the bin for the rear springs was mislabeled by GM and they are indeed out of stock. My order shipped in September. Inspect carefully.

Didn't find out they were the wrong springs until installation. Now we are on the hook for installation costs to put the springs in and then switch it back to stock. Fun times.

BTW, anyone have a set of rear ZOK springs they want to sell?

Mine didn't have tags, but rather painted yellow stripes. The tag was supposed to have yellow stripes, so I incorrectly assumed it was the right part. Why would they ship the wrong item? Instead of the car being lower in the rear, it sits about 5" higher than stock. It's hilarious.

If you get a set without tags, send a picture and have the supplier check with GM for confirmation. If the set does have the correct tags... congrats, you just got the last known pair.

ps. Tom at Crate Engine Depot has been super helpful throughout this process. It was GM's mistake and not his.

Thanks again for the info! I purchased mine from someone else. They had the rears in stock (I think) and ordered the fronts. My tracking number is stuck on "A UPS shipping label has been created." since yesterday so something's up
