Helmets Off to Heroes II
« on: August 23, 2012, 10:19:02 PM »
BSS and I did this event last year on Veterans Day at Summit Point called Helmets Off to Heroes.  It's a free track day with instruction for all Active Military and Veterans.  I had a blast!  Here's the thread from last year:

http://www.kappaperformance.com/forum/index.php/topic,7867.msg120072.html#msg120072

I got an e-mail overnight from the organizer.  They're doing it again!  If I were still living within a day's drive, I'd be all over it.  Highly encourage anyone that meets the criteria to take advantage.

That looked like a lot of fun last year, wonder if anyone is interested this year.  Did you stay overnight or drive up that day?

Stayed overnight, but could have driven up that day just as well.

they ride shotgun with you, after they drive your car and show you what you are supposed to do

BSS found this video and posted it to my fb wall a few minutes ago:

Helmets Off to Heroes

For the record, it's CLEARLY my instructor driving my car at 1:47, and BSS's instructor in his car at 1:58.  The other two times my car is shown swapping ends were probably my fault, though...

You can tell by the interviews that we both had an awesome time.  HIGHLY recommend anyone that can take advantage goes.
