Gaithersburg King Buick/GMC Trade-In Offer
« on: May 16, 2012, 08:46:44 AM »
I received a notice in the mail at the end of last week from King Buick GMC in Gaithersburg, MD.  They state that they are in need of a few specific vehicles, my 2009 Saturn Sky being one of them.  The notice promises base MSRP on the vehicle as trade-in, minus 20-55ยข per mile and any reconditioning.

I know that the mileage would devalue a lot of vehicles quite quickly, but if you have a low-mileage example in great condition then the deal seems quite good.  For example mine has less than 7500 miles on it and looks like new, so the most they would take off of would be $4125, making it worth at least $27k which is higher than I could sell it for.

I do not know if it is just another scam to get a potential buyer in the door, but I still have the notice if anyone is interested.  If it were a Chevy dealer I might actually be tempted.

Its from a dealership.  Of course its a scam to get you in the door.

I love how I log into the Sky Forum and it says
Have a sky, how about a camaro
I don't want a camaro, I have a sky

They probably inherited the records from your Sky Dealer.  It is a mailing all the dealerships send out to owners of record.  I still get them on my Nissan truck which is an 01, the Sol and my wife's Honda.  I find it amazing how I have managed to have 3 in very high demand vehicles.  :)

It said base sticker. This means no options. If the sticker for a 2009 SKY was 25K then less 4K you are now looking at 21K and not 27K as you posted.

I got a letter from the local jeep dealer. I am so tempted to drive in there and put them through the ringer.
Take a new jeep and hammer it offroad.
Hahahaha

Base MSRP on my window sticker is $31.5k as I recall.
