Arabas is on stock turbo and low rpms (3000rpm) is preferred, elff is on bigger turbo and preferably to use around 5000rpm.

I don't see a different reason.

My turbo spools slightly better than the K04 with a stock or GMPP tune.   That's a result of it not being a pure 2871, but a hybrid and excellent tuning.

I understand what you are saying.
I don't shift based on speed, I shift based on RPMs and I put the car the proper gear to put it in the power band without over revving it.

If I am "driving" the car, I don't even look at the speedometer, only look at the tach/listen.

Elff,

You sound very satisfied with your current setup. What type of gas are you running? You haven't rebuilt/replaced your internals, have you?

I have an E47 Tune and a 93 Octane tune.  Currently I am running E47.
Both spool similar, but E47 allows for a lot more timing and thus more power.

Here is a description of the turbo
DDMWorks GT2871 Turbo Upgrade
It uses the exhaust side of the stock K04 turbo but replaces the center cartridge and compressor housing with that of the Garrett GT2871

one does not have to look at the speedo to undrestand what speed he is doing. if you listen to the car and DRIVE, you know what speed approx you are doing.
who said sthg about looking at the speedo?
sorry, but i asked if someone was kind enough to post times for 100-150km in 4th, which is something very realistic (it's not like i said give me a time for 30-70km/h in 5th gear) and i get to be someone who is looking at the speedo or if like i asked for something weird...

I ain't falling for that trick.  2871 stays on my car and I know it will be slower because it is 3.292 right now in 3rd gear.

I may live in a tree, but that tree isn't under a rock

Can you also calculate and post the same 100-150km/h in 4th gear?

I know it's faster than 2.2 seconds, but is a 4th Gear pull  for 100-150km/h of
of 4.618 ok?

I also increased my 3rd gear time from 100-150km to (this was actually 63-93 Mph HPT didn't display 92 in the log)
2.870

Not too shabby for a smaller turbo

We will have to pull a tad of timing I was hitting a knock retard of 3 degrees which isn't horrific, but I prefer it to be completely zero.   Why take the chance?

Looked at my logs today on the stock K04 turbo (tuned) and all stock components, IC,bypass valve, cat, etc.

Seems like my 60-96 time is 6.01 sec.  ..

There is a gear change like elff mentioned at 96, I dont get to 100 until 7.1 sec

I went out and checked mine today.  It never reached 100mph.  The truck carrying it barely got over 65.  So the best I have is

60-65 mph 21.3 seconds in 12th gear.

Hope that helps everyone.

3 secs for 100-150 km/h is quite fast.
I d love to see the time for the same measurement in 4 th gear too, with your set up.
When i get a chance i will measure my times ( stock turbo+ tune+ bolt ons) with third ans fourth gear too

Here you go Arabas.

4th gear 100-150 km/h : 4.29 secs @ 1.6 bar

I have made some changes to my tune since my first post. In 3rd gear I now pull 2.79. This is all at 1.6 bar of boost. Will soon have a go for 2.0 bar. Think this should bring my 3rd gear pull below 2.5 secs.

Looked at the 63-93mph out of this 36-103 run, came out to 2.496 seconds. That's why I like this test method, whether it's 60-100, 36-103 or 100-150k/h the times are usually very consistent. Wasn't my last 63-93 run 2.48? With the tires I have being taller, I'd like to compare my 36 to 109mph run here to other cars. ALL ONE GEAR all the way to 109mph!

Here's a couple screen shots of the run comparing it to Jeb's 20G. Arabas, you wanted 4th gear down low I know, hopefully this 3rd gear log starting at 2300rpm will help show how "elastic" my motor is! Check out the boost difference at the same rpm and mph as Jeb was at. 11.8 vs. 25.9psi.

gmtech, i am not familiar with these diagrams (it must be HPT logs). i have never used hpt, so i can't really read them (didn't tell anything so far, coz everybody seems to be able to read those).
so 36 to 109 must be 50km/h to 160km/h.
6.7 secs seems pretty fast!!

Thats a pretty damn nice time getaway! Who is your tuner?

The base tune was made by a local tuner here in Sweden. Since then I have had some help from a friend who's been tuning a couple of SAABs, to tweak the tune further. Have also used HP tuners to do some minor tweaks myself.

Here is some data for reference (found this data from a forum here in Sweden):

All times measured with RL Performancebox

100-150km/h / 100-200km/h

Bmw M3 E36 Limo-98 4,4s / 12,0s
Saab 9-5 Aero 6,8s
Golf GTI V stage I 7,12s
Bmw M3 CSL -03 3,9s
Porsche 997 GT3 RS 3,5s
Bmw M5 Touring E61 3,5s
Ford Mustang GT V8 2006 7,1s
Porsche 997 Turbo Cargraphic stage II 550hk 3,3s
Subaru Impreza Diesel-09 9,5s
Volvo 945 Turbo-97 ~330 hp 4,8s
Porsche 997 Carrera 4s PDK 4,0s
Toyota HiLux picup 1min 48s
Golf GTI DSG 7,47s
Saab 9-5 Aero Nordic stage III 300hk 6,8s
Saab 9000  225hk 5,5s
Saab 9000 ~300hk 4,6s
Golf R32-06 6,8s
Porsche 996 Turbo 420hk 3,6s / 9,7s
Mitsubishi EVO IX Autotech stage 1+ 3,6s
Audi S6 Avant -01 6.6s

GMtech for instance showed a 2.6s run 100-150km/h. Lets compare that to the 996 Turbo or the 997 Turbo Cargraphic stage II 550hk. That's a whole sec faster than the 996 turbo! The LNF engine is just amazing!
