Wonderful pictures, everything looks so nice except the wiring :D

Thanks for sharing.

Dave: until 1 year ago I was pissed off because your attention was mostly on LE5, than you switched a little bit on LNF, now you move away to LS  :gaah: you hate LNF so bad or is too strong so it doesn't need your attention?  :poke:

Actually we are working on something big for the LNF, but it is a little time consuming. When it comes to the LNF engine cars we focused on what we thought the majority of our customers were looking for - a nice reliable setup that they could run on a stock engine, so that is where we have the 2871 turbo, and all of the supporting hardware to go with it - intercooler, charge tubes, silicone tubes, etc. Although it is fun to build the really big horsepower builds ( I have some pics of something we finished a little bit ago that I will get up in a little bit) those big horsepower builds are not what we find most of our customers are looking for, and actually represent a very small percentage of the community. So we think that the community has been better served by having our focus be on the mainstream mods for the LNF. Hope that makes sense.

They have to be my size actually.

Anyways, Dave, you really owe me some info and conttributing to my thread. You'll be the first V8. Please do us that favor.

As for the diff, say I would to run 460whp-480whp, would the stock diff take it? Axles? or does this diff that was installed with the V8 hold more?

I will get the dyno sheets up for you :)

460-480whp with the stock diff is going to depend on how you are making the power (turbo I am guessing), what kind of tires you are running and how hard you are going to launch. Really sticky tires on a well prepped dragway with a clutch that is going to take it and dropping the clutch from 5500rpm's probably is going to kill something. There are plenty of V8's out there though that are running around that power with the diff and taking it though. I am not sure, but I would guess most of them are not running down the drag strip much ;)

minus the weight of the LN5 =   difference
minus the weight of the LNF =    difference

I think that may be what he is getting at

Didn't Wade already do all of that a long time ago? I think he made a really nice comparison between them all.

The engine/transmission is already out of the next car and the new stuff going in so I can not get an accurate weight on this one, but I can corner weight the next one coming in.

Yes

Mine works very well.  So far I have flogged the crap out of it several times and left nothing laying in the road.

I actually prefer the stock ratio with the 6 speed.  It acts like a close ratio 5 speed with a tall OD 6th gear.

I have been seeing 20 MPG  city and 26 MPG highway.  When I put my foot into it you can hear and see the gas level lowering however.

Mine is quite loud as Dave succeeded in making it scare small children without breaking glass.  At car shows I am constantly asked to just let it idle as it sounds so good.  It does not hurt that it is a Solstice loping at idle either.

The radiator design is very well done.  It has two electric fans, one on each side as they are too wide to fit on the same side.  A lot of gear heads have admired the innovative design and the high quality of the workmanship.

I am having an oil cooler added.  Under "normal" driving conditions the temps are fine, but I get a lot of requests for "take me for a ride" so the car does a lot of stop and go with serious flogging in between.  This has resulted in temps of 230 on a 100 degree day.  This is ok but just to be certain that the oil stays nice and happy the oil cooler is going on the car.

I have to say that after driving Punisher for a while, when I jump into the wife's Sky, it feels like a little commuter car. The clutch forces are totally different.  The first couple of times I try to push the pedal through the floor in the Sky.

Even with TC on, I find that the rear end wants to get loose a lot.  I have to change my driving habits in the LS car quite a bit.  Its all good.

The best sound it makes is the scream from the passanger seat when you go 0-100 in 5-6 seconds.  I mean its AWSOME!

Wade did post a lot of data.  He got into a conversation with the guy from BC who has all the older British sports cars.  Wade's numbers measured a 50 pound gain with his swap but an improvement in weight distribution because much of the weight was rear biased due to the transmission change.

Rob, forgive me if you did this on the big board, but could you get some video of the exhaust sound? I know it's gotta be awesome and I'm dying to hear it! If you did, I can find it on the Sol Side!

Thanks!
