What EFR is this?

At what boost the dyno was made?

The turbine housing is the one from stock turbo so no manifold or adapter is required?

Looks great, if it was released in beginning of 2011 I would have bought it.

Than what turbo is this?

Antonio is definately correct, it is not a Borg Warner, it is a custom piece made for us to our specs by Precision Turbo, the same folks who make our WR-1 "Big Wheel" turbo.

There other considerations when it comes with a dealership not only for buying it but also in cases of warranty when shipping a turbo from here to US costs like 400-700$ :D

Is it a ball bearing or journal bearing CHRA?
Coming from Precision I'm guessing it is ball bearing.

Very interesting.
Quick question.

Will this work with a stock sized cat?
Like the solo hi flo that fits the k04?

What is the side by side comparison/contrast to the BNR K04/2871 turbo?

Damn!!!  No joke, if this were available about 6 months ago, I would have went this route, and not my crazy stereo/radar detector/gauges project . . . which actually cost even more all together than this kit even with a core charge  :tool:

Does that price include the tune that got you to 390 whp?  You mentioned dyno tuning ref the RL you used but it isn't clear in the other write-ups.  I have the GMPP tune.  Lastly, what would the installed package cost if one wanted the upgrades above that were made to the mule (minus the cat and exhauast, assuming the Solo prods fit).

One other question

Does this require an external BOV, or does it recirculate like the like K04.

Looks like it just uses a machined out stock K04 compressor cover so it would be just like stock and recirculate. They are just offering the Forge unit as an upgrade.

Yes it is a hollowed out K04 compressor housing and yes we offer the Forge as an option but strongly reccomend it as standard for this turbo.  The turbo flows a lot more air than the stock unit and you will most likely be running a lot higher pressure as well.  The Forge unit does not use a rubber diaphram that could tear, holds pressure better and is much faster acting for better response in between shifts.

We do not include any tuning with this turbocharger, we do offer e-mail with datalogging tunes for $350.00.

For a breakdown of installation and exact parts wanted/needed please e-mail me at dave@performanceautowerks.com and I can put together an estimate and e-mail it back.

Would it work "detuned" with stock internals until I can upgrade internals at a later date. Somewhere on the order of 350-375 bhp? I won't be able to do a rebuild for a few more years. Unless of course disaster stikes...

Brazen, I will not be comfortable using it de-tuned.

if you do, you might not have to wait for 2 years...to do a an engine rebuild.   It will be sooner than that.

If the whp is under 400 and you have a good tune with no knock you don't need to upgrade the internals.

The thing you should worry about is the stock rockers, lash adjusters and valve springs if you plan on being in the 7000 rpm range on a regular basis
