Cobalt big brakes

I've heard the cobalt front brakes work on our car.  Does anyone have any info on this?

The bolt spacing is the same for the mount and the rotor offset is the same. They are using the same size pistons that we use in our kit, but a larger diameter rotor which is going to bias the brakes toward the front. Looks like it will work, you would need the calipers, rotors, pads, possibly new lines as I have not confirmed the banjo bolt size is the same as the stock one, also different wheels or a very thick wheel spacer (.4") on the stock solstice rim will be needed for sure to do this.

I tried Rock Auto to create the same kit and came out quite a bit cheaper; can't remember exactly how much, about half if I wasn't mistaken.  I didn't buy the parts; just curious how they compare.

Either Autozone or O'Reilly also sells rebuilt Brembo calipers for much less than a new one.

I have not seen Brembos on Rock Auto, are you sure you were not pricing out standard Cobalt calipers?

Search for ACDELCO Part # 1722484 and ACDELCO Part # 1722485 on Rock auto. It looks as though they are the Brembo units.

I wanted to do this also. The below thread showed me that clearance between the rotor and the wheel was not possible with my aftermarket wheels without extending the tires outside of the wheel wells using spacers. I don't like that look so I went with painted stock stoppers instead.

Thought I would share:

Nope.

2008 or 2009 should work equally well.

Wow, those are thick.
I am not sure of those would fit with my Ultraleggera's  and no spacers

I've 2.25" between my Ultraleggeras and the rotor on the front.
