with some of the upcoming products we have in production ;)

I hope that includes the reinforced metal underbody lift plates?

I've seen pics of RTE dented lift points.  :(

BTW, wouldn't object to a set of replicated Aftershock two-piece fiberglass rocker panels.  I can't stop staring at that silver Solstice on Rudy's old site.  From the recessed grill to the ducktail spoiler, rocker panels, it's lowering, silver color, and the wheels and tires just says  to me.

Solidworks Solstice grills, #1 post October 26, 2012, 10:34:40 PM

Here you go Bob.  Took about 40 min to draw in Solidworks 06, had to remember how to use the older version which is what I have at home.  Of course this is just a guess at the size and is lacking things like draft and installation tabs.  A production model shouldn't take more than a few hours to do it's collecting the data from the car to make it work that would take the most time.  Anyone have a 3d scan of the Solstice to work with?

Still Vaporware as of 10/19/2014.  :banghead:

Dave tried to distract us with things like short shift kits and buying Kappa Sphere and now he's trying to start a B&B for Critter.  Which in my opinion are all pretty lame excuses for not getting these grills made, come on Dave quit stalling.  Don't make us have to get Ivy involved in this.

Ok, BUMP. Both for the grills and the reinforced lift points. Knew I should have asked Dave about something else when I talked to him a couple weeks ago.

Since it doesn't look like these are much of a priority for DDM, if someone has the ability to host some files I'll make the CAD models available and people can take them to a 3D printer of their choice and get some made.

Yes, but I promise I won't change the program to cheat the emission tests.

How would you go about getting quotes from a 3D service, just send them the CAD file copy?  Would it also involve asking or specifying the type of composite to use?  Also, wouldn't/shouldn't 10 sets be cheaper per unit than one set?

I looked online for 3D printing services and a lot of sites pop up so it looks like you'd have to contact quite a few to find out to see if they are capable of taking on a small production run.

Now if I could only find out who purchased the Aftershock side sills.  I did ask Norm if he'd make the recessed grills and side skirts,  but he told me he doesn't copy others designs.

Yes I think most 3d printers would want a copy of the file to see what they are making and can then give you a quote.  They can also probably help you choose a material depending on what they use.  You can also report back here and I will give my 2 cents if you want on what might work best.  As for cheaper by the quantity that's a question for the printer.

I have access to a 3D printer. I'm about 80% sure I can use it. If you're willing to make the CAD and send it to me I'll see what I can do! 99% of my friends are Mechanical/Aerospace engineers with 3D printers I'd be willing to pay for a prototype through them and post the results

There are a lot of 3D printers out there but not a lot of them have a bed big enough to make a set of grills for the car.
Just trying to do my part...
