So is this a 2.0 LNF engine modded to make it a 2.4 or is this actually a modded 2.4 LE5?  What block do you start with?

It's a stroker kit for the 2.0L raising displacement to 2.4.  If it were a stroker kit for the 2.4, the displacement would be higher.

So, what are the performance curves like starting in standard tune, GM Performance and standard ECM? What's the baseline data and what do you get just doing the stroker upgrade?

I totally understand what stroker means and thus the:

"WERKSracing balanced 2.4L rotating assembly"

which means where the 2.0 has a forged crank the 2.4 has the cast one which is weaker.  If you take a 2.0 block which was supposed to have thicker castings for strength and bore it oversized it is now weaker too.  So if you take the 2.0 and do all that to it why not just take a 2.4 and put the LNF head on it so you can make it DI?

That's the reasoning behind my original question.

If it were a stroker kit for the 2.4 you couldn't run the 2.4 rotating assembly as the only stroking going on would have little to do with the engine.

Nice critter!  Advertising for another vendor right in this vendors thread.

Do the thinner walls of the cylinder pose any problems with the 20-25# of boost many are running?  What about the larger turbos?  Do the sleeves take care of that?

We START with a 2.0L LNF block and bore it out for the 88mm pistons.  We can do the exact same thing, minus the boring of course, to a 2.4L LE5 block.

Wish you guys did something like this for the 2.4 LE5 :-)

We have built our first 2.4L Kappa engine in 2005 on a nearly new vehicle!!!  Was DDM working on Kappas then???  :)

We have not seen any issues running high boost and the slightly thinner sleeves.  What kills sleeves in general is poor tuning, detonation and overly rich conditions on LNFs which we have seen many times even on stock sleeves...

What mods are on that car?

I see you posted your other built engines.
Don't all Lnf's that get Wiseco pistons end up being 2.1's to fit the wisecos?
So in effect, they all get a little stroked
which makes their owners Stoked to get the new engine {See what I did there} :D

Mods were 3" downpipe with cat, 3" exhaust Front mount intercooler K&N panel filter.

Wiseco makes Stock bore size LNF pistons as well so unless you get the 88mm oversized versions you don't get stroked automatically ;)

Factory Ecotec 2.0 block= 86mm bore X 86mm stroke   2.0L or 1998cc or 122cid
Factory Ecotec 2.2 block= 86mm bore X 94.6mm stroke   2.2L or 2198cc or 134cid
Factory Ecotec 2.4 block = 88mm bore X 98mm stroke   2.4L or 2384cc or 145cid  (Largest bore and stroke in a Ecotec Generation 2)

Ecotec 2.0 block with +2 bore (88mm) standard (86mm) stroke = 88mm bore X 86mm stroke   2.1L or 2092cc or 128cid
Ecotec 2.0 block with +2 bore (88mm) 98mm stroker = 88mm bore X 98mm stroke   2.4L or 2384cc or 145cid
Ecotec 2.2 block with +2 bore (88mm) standard (94.6mm) stroke = 88mm bore X 94.6mm stroke   2.3L or 2301cc or 140cid
Ecotec 2.2 block with +2 bore (88mm) 98mm stroker = 88mm bore X 98mm stroke   2.4L or 2384cc or 145cid

Sorry 2.4L guys no over bore or stroker... unless you figure some elite custom option, like journal grinding or customer pistons or crank.

Let us know if you do, cause I'm interested!!!

Talk to the DSM guys, we figured this stuff out with the 4G6X engines in the '90s.

There's no replacement for displacement, but boost sure is fun!!!!

Now that you no longer sell it ill throw in my 2 cent's.  Making more power by putting in a weaker cast crank seams like a bad idea.
