Hello,

I went to the track for the first time with my 2007 GXP automatic and my fastest time was 13.145 secs in the quarter mile.  This was run #7.  I posted the slips of all my 13 runs with a matching video if captured.  My only 3 mods are SOLO Street Race exhaust, SOLO High Flow CAT and an amazing custom Tune using HP Tuners.  Everything else including shiity goodyear tires is stock.

I will start another thread to ask for some analysis, but will just show the slips here to continue discussion on this thread:

Today I went to Maryland International Raceway to attempt a better record for my previous was a 13.48.  I did it on the first run.

13.28 in the 1/4 with a trap speed of 102.7, 1st attachment is the time slip.  I was # 1984.   My front wheels almost came off the ground as you can see in the second attachment

2112 was a 08 Saturn Sky Redline with GMPP tune, Solo CAT, Mach shorty and Mickey Thompson drag radials.  He ended up doing two consecutive 13.108 runs after that.   His car was also an automatic.

DBG,
Did you make those runs with drag radials?  I see different wheels on the back of your car, but can't tell if they are the ones you were mentioning in an earlier post?

no that was stock wheels and tires.  Later runs I did in drag radials were not as good, they hooked up so well I needed more runs to figure out the correct RPM to release from to prevent the car from bogging down.

1.92s on 60ft with stock wheels and street tires sounds like a pretty good preped track in my opinion.

Put those racing shoes and we will see 1.7s on 60ft and 12s on ET.

Those wheels coming up is probably in conjunction with a tight or close chassis(LV Kappa Front Chassis Brace).
Also the power to the wheels is more even, since the BackBone and LVKFCBrace are preventing the chassis front twisting.

LV is correct, I used to see a steep rise in the left front end when launching prior to the LV Chassis brace and DDM backbone.

Kelu,
The LV Kappa Chassis Brace adds a total of 5.2 lbs to the front end.
That weight compare to the advantage it offers is miniscule or completely offset.
The offset is accomplish by not having the power reduce by the flex or torsion to the chassis.
Instead the power is more evenly distributed to the back wheels for a much better launch.
By closing the chassis with the BackBone and LV KFCBrace, on our frame, ensures that the energy being generated by the motor to the flywheel, clutch and driveshaft differential, is not degraded by the opposite forces of a flexing chassis.
In other words the force(torque) is applied more linear towards the back wheels where is the most need it.

Whine whine whine.... it's all about the prepped track... it's not my fault I can't drive as good at DBG.... the track was slippery, that's why my 60 ft time suffered... the car just spins it's tires here....  whine whine whine....   :bs: :cryin:

Anybody else notice how much crying Kelu does about his poorly prepped tracks?  Just sounds like excuses for not racing Arabas to me...

My best 60ft with stock rims and factory tires was 1.96s on 60ft, not whine here, maybe a little bit of bragging.  :poke:

That reply was encouragement to DBG and definitely not a whine.

Things that can help you are: Use AMSOIL throughout, index sparkplugs, take off front tag, cut open airbox, use mickeythompson street ET 2 265 40 18 on 10in rims. If you have m/t drag radials set airpressure to 26 to 30psi. You should get 1.77 to 1.72 60ft, and still get a high top end speed/ET around 12.92. Because of less friction. If you have 450 to 500hp to the wheels you can get 1.6 to 1.5, that's the only way to get there tires will not help you.

If you look at the above post (I split it from Kelu's thread), I added Speedracer's time slips.

Several times are in the 12s and he has a GMPP Redline, Solo High Flow CAT and Mach Exhaust,  DDM BackBone and LV Front Chassis Brace.

The two slips on this post are his also.  He doesn't any way of scanning and uploading the slips

From 12 slips posted, I have counted 9 with 12.9 or 13.0 ET, that is INSANE!!! That screams for a great racer.

12.9s with GMPP only
1.7s on 60ft (not impressed, I have seen slips from LNF Cobalts doing 1.7s with slicks and only boltons, they are FWD and almost same weight)
102-106 mph trap speeds

These are very comparable with my times and my mods with just better launches but I don't think GMPP makes same power as my Wester. Am I missing something?
Lightweight mods? Or this is another downhill drag strip?

That screams for a great racer with an automatic.  Did you see his reaction times.  .022 and a 1.7 60 foot on these cars is very impressive.  Lets not compare apples (CoBalts) to oranges (Kappas).
