This is Autocrossing?
« on: November 27, 2012, 01:38:05 PM »
I think Romania is preparing for next year for Autocrossing, they organized a prologue race on a go cart circuit close in my city.

Here you have a video with an iconic cars for that kind of race:
Autoslalom 24 noiembrie - Radu Fenyo - Radical Clubsport

Does that look like Autocrossing?

I'm thinking to diminish the drag racing and go for this if the races will take place in my city, at least if I still be around here.

That's not autocrossing which is usually not on a "fixed course".  Here is a video of me in my Z06 autocrossing; I'd say that autox has the flexibility when it comes to course design.

VETT: I know how AutoX is looking in US, I watched all the videos around here.

I was asking regarding track layout, length, width, style, etc.

Generally in our cars (Kappa and I think Vette too) all track is made in 2nd gear, right? I asked my friends who raced street preped cars and they all raced in 2nd gear on that track.

My Z06 very rarely sees 2nd gear in an autox.  First gear gets to 62 mph and if I had to reach second gear in an autox, it would turn you religious.

Your video shows a "short" road course, but that's not autox.

That'd be a blast!   :D

They did have cones on the track so it does qualify as autocrossing, not all areas have big lots so using a track and adding cones to it is an alternative, and they did have marshalls near the cones.

in the video Kelu posted, they have the cones to cut the straight line in half, so as to avoid high speeds, this is what they also do  around here for track days like this.
go for it Kelu, it will be a blast! i d say, better than drag race!!
