New guy from Texas
« on: April 10, 2013, 10:57:40 PM »
Hello everyone,

My names Tyler, my better half and I own both a solstice gxp and a sky redline. The sol is mine and the sky hers. Both of the cars are modded, the sol is fully bolted, turbo swapped, and running on e47. The sky has a few bolt ons as well, also running on e47. We do all the work on the cars together, except oil changes we let the dealership do the boring stuff lol
We are close to the Dallas area and we try to make it out to meets/events as often as possible (easier said than done)

Not sure how to post pictures or else I would...Anyone care to tell me how to do this?

Welcome to the forum! I am also a noob here, however the easiest way to post pictures (I have found) is to become a supporting member :)
That will also give you access to lots of excellent service manuals and other goodies. not to mention the good feeling knowing you are helping to keep this wonderful forum alive and well.
The level of support and general good humor here is why I joined.
Have fun and I can't wait to see your pics :)

Welcome! There are a few folks organizing things around the DFW area. Next one I know of is a run up 4 to Sweetie Pies in Decatur next weekend (4/20/13). Can find the info over on the solstice forums in the SWSC forum. Stuck seems to organize a few runs each year around Texas. Sky forums have a few active people around the area too.

Had a few kappas show up to Cars & Coffee last weekend @ Classic BMW in Plano (along with an estimated 1000+ other cars). The C&C events happen the first Saturday of each month at Classic BMW. If you enjoy seeing a wide range of cars, these events are great. Just plan to get there before 7 a.m. if you want a spot.

Good to see another Texas member! I have been wanting to check out local cruises or meets myself, but haven't gotten to do anything yet. I will be trying to make the Sweetie Pie's run next weekend, but I have work so I will try.

I'd be interested in seeing more pictures of the Sky with the stripes. I have been debating matte black stripes like that on my mysterious Sol and you may have sold me. Again, Welcome to the forum!

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome!

Welcome Tyler, I'm pretty sure we're Facebook friends. Welcome to the craziness!
I have quite a few kappa friends on facebook so I wouldn't doubt that we are friends.
Welcome! There are a few folks organizing things around the DFW area. Next one I know of is a run up 4 to Sweetie Pies in Decatur next weekend (4/20/13).

I haven't heard of this event until now, I would love to attend but, on such short notice I doubt I'll be able to make an appearance.  :(

As for Cars & Coffee, we have been to one so far this year, two months ago, It was super cold and windy but, still had a great time. We had planned on going to the C&C this month but Nikki had a horse event the same weekend so we skipped it . We will be at there next month if nothing comes up.

Work always gets in the way of fun stuff.  :(

Nikki has plenty of pictures of the car, so I'm sure I can help you out with a few more shots  ;)

I can't take credit for anything done to this car. From day one Nikki has been in the driver seat, I just hold the flashlight lol. I think she has the majority of it done, all we need now is a few hundred more horsepower to the wheels and she will be a happy girl.

Once again thanks for the warm welcomes. Sorry for the late reply I've been busy learning to polish. I'll post a picture in a minute of my project I just finished.
Pics of Solstice engine?
Im not sure if I even have a picture of my engine bay in one piece lol. I'll be sure to post a picture when I'm finally happy with how it looks.

Yeah Baby!  This is something I've been promising myself I'll do to mine.  What tools did you use to fine down the surface?
