New England Region, SCCA Announces the "Solstice in the Park PDX" at Lime Rock Park's Infield Courses.

SCCA - New England Region - Solo

Friday, June 21, 2013

Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, CT

Welcome to SCCA's Performance Driving Experience! NER brings you a new type of non-competitive event where you are encouraged to simply come out and have some fun with your car in an instructional environment. Brush up on car control skills and g-loading a car on either of the 1/3-mile kidney-bean tracks atop the hill at historic Lime Rock Park, one wet and one dry (weather permitting)!

Then in the afternoon, try the full configuration with its dramatic elevation change (run counter-clockwise, a rarely-offered option for fullsize cars). An entry includes lead-follow laps on the full 1.53 mile circuit mid-day! Bring any car you want, this is an unmuffled event. Cars need only be mechanically sound and eligible-as-prepared for any SCCA Solo or Club Racing class (though no classes will be designated for this event). CONVERTIBLES NEED TO BE FULLY CAGED OR ROLL BAR INSTALLED.

Drivers must have their own SFI 31.1 or Snell SA2000 (or newer) helmet to use and/or share. There may be no more than two drivers (two entries) sharing a car.

Entry Fee: $110 (Non-SCCA-members will be able to purchase a $15 weekend membership at the track)

Online Registration http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/B54C6572-FE34-8945-57E9981C4A72EB91#.Ubm--CPD-M9

Checks may be mailed to registrar:

Trevor Hermance (email: racerguyii@yahoo.com)
234 Whiting Street
New Britain, CT 06051-3124

or cash/check payment made at the track.

Any mailings must be received by June 19, 2013

This event is run by the New England Region of the SCCA. I am a member and have contacted the Program Manager about the Lead follow on the track. The AutoX does not have the same safety requirements.

It is still a great opportunity to drive on the auto cross and receive same instruction. It is going to be an exciting weekend. Updates will be posted when available.
Enjoying the open ride.
