Tire Clearance?
« on: August 31, 2013, 12:48:54 AM »
I know...I'm a dope because this has been answered before. However,I don't know the answer,so here goes. Can I run a 265/40/18 with the stock offset on the rear without issues? A 255?
Also are 245's considered optimal for the front and/or how about 255/40's ? Thanks in advance for your help.  :tool:

You can run up to 275s if you had a good reason. Why are you asking?  What is your end goal?

Well,GJ...I need new tires and was possibly considering going staggered f/r. s a side note,I think I have settled on Goodyear Eagle GT (2) as it has received good reviews,is reasonably priced, and long wearing. I had been considering 255/40 all round to gain a little width and traction, then started considering wider for the rear.Your thoughts? BTW, you have a houseboat??

I am running 255's on an 18x8.5 rim with a slightly different offset.  They fit in the wheel wells fine.  That is the maximum size for an 8.5 rim.  Stock rims are 18x8.  you need a 9 inch rim for 275's
