Discount tire sells drag radials.  I would think about the Nitto 555r's

Everyone I know runs the Nitto's and they are street legal, wouldn't want to drive them in the rain. The Nitto does not come in a 245/45/18 it comes in 285/40/18 or 245/45/17. The 285's would be great if you could make them fit.

You would probably want to go to a smaller rim (15-16") and a taller tire to get the best results but stay as close to the original tire diameter as possible.

I've made a deal to do some work on a car and a set of stock rims to put DR on.

Stock rims won't work for the Nitto, you need either wider or smaller they don't make a tire that fits the stock rim. Mickey Thompson does.

Around here for track we use Toyo R888 which are street legal but they are a pain on public roads especially wet. They have close dimensions for our rims.
