My car has been Jonymac attacked
« on: August 11, 2009, 07:57:07 AM »
A couple of weeks ago Jmac installed a custom windscreen on my car, it is auto safety glass that was custom made for my car. Jmac did a template and sent it off. It has holes in the glass, and is screwed in place. It has a red led under that lights it up red when I hit the brakes. It is beautiful, yes I have pictures, they are at home, I'm at work. I will post them tonight.

Next project was last weekend, Jmac and I did the Rudeboy sound dampener to my doors, Jmac did most of the work. IT IS AWESOME, this is a very worthwhile mod. The factory stereo sounds 10 times better. It is neither quick nor easy. It took about 5 hours, and Jmac has done it before, and my doors were already lined with sound dampener. I would absolutely NOT recommend trying to do this at the mod meet. This needs to be done in a garage, with plenty space and time. It is worth the time and effort. I hope to do the rest of the car in time.

Thank you John very much for your time and efforts!

My next mod is to soundproof the car using Rudeboys products,  waiting until fall as a cool weather project. Like you say a project that you need to take your time with. Looking forward to it and the good results like yours.

I was looking to get one custom made so it fits the contour of my rollbar.  Jony let's talk at the mod meet!

OK now the pictures: This is the wind screen, the chrome button you see is actually a screw with a cover, goes through the body. The glass is the exact same glass as the windows, it looks very stock. It works really well and it does not rattle or ever have to be removed.

OK here are some pictures of Jmac installing the sound damping:

The test sheet of aluminum roofing
Making the sound barrier looks like Africa

Installed, this is a sandwich with dead air in the middle

The rubber mat before it is cut to shape.

This is the complete door before the door panel goes on, it is sealed and a LOT of work to get to this point

Every day as I drive back and forth to work I think about the mods Jmac did on my car, the sound is so good and I love the wind breaker. I will add to the sound deadener at the mod meet and really have to thank Jmac and Don (rudeboy) for the system. It is just amazing to me every day how good it sounds. I pretty much listen to Club music at

full volume!

I looks great!  When you said "I would absolutely NOT recommend trying to do this at the mod meet." Were you just talking about the doors?  Those being the hard part I was kind of hoping to get help with that part.  I would think that that floor backwall and trunk will be easy compaired to the doors.

It is actually the other way around, doors are harder, but Don is making the hard part (the aluminum pieces) for everyone  and he will be there to advise. we are going to make a template and cut everyone panels, should make things a ton easier
