Where to buy LED and other parts?
« on: March 13, 2010, 10:41:04 PM »
I have been looking into putting some more lighting in my car for potential night time driving and need to get an Add-a-circuit fuse for the floorboard lighting mod.  Except for online, has anyone had any success with purchasing these out in town? Auto parts store? I am also looking for red LED replacements for the mirror bulbs and cannot seem to find better replacements for the stock bulbs.  I see the Pilot LI-194W (white) but no red.  Anybody had any luck finding red LED's for the map lights that do not require a large project to replace?

Go see this thread: Map light upgrade (there's a LED bulb source link in the first post).  But read further down the page for my updated (brighter) bulb info.  The bulbs mentioned are available from there in all the usual colors.

Thanks TomatoSoup for the LED information... Probably going all out on this MOD. Have you had any problems with the turn signals, and can any other bulbs be changed out for the LED types? (Sorry for the re-visit but new information is always great)

Any ideas on the add a circuit fuse required to tap into the main power source for the footwell LED mod?  Just would prefer to pick one up in town vice the internet.

Yur welcome :)

I kinda dropped the ball and haven't (yet) gone further.  But no problems/issues with the map LEDs or Side marker LEDs (knock wood).

AutoZone is the best. Never realized they have so many good things to use.  I now either have all the parts in hand or will be here tomorrow to start Soup's great adventure in LED-dom... Thanks to all for the input and advice for where to get stuff.

The Add-A-Circuit at Autozone is 6.99 +tax BTW, in case anyone else is looking for one. Neve price for what you get, and no shipping.

Hey CT, I did an update for new Trunk light LEDs, back at: Map light upgrade (page 2).  There's a new place I found for LEDs there, a bear to search, but cheap.

Thanks TS, working on finishing "other" performance upgrades first, then back to the looks of the car. Keeping it simple for a while first.

I think I found a Canadian supplier for Wedge 194  map lights ,  haven't ordered yet but intend to. I found some foot well lights at Canadian Tire but it seems the one I bought they don't intend to carry any longer so not much help.  Here is the supplier out of the Toronto area on the bulb replacements:

http://www.lightdepot.ca/product_info.php?cPath=28_36&products_id=117

Update - I ordered these, talked to the guy first he claims they are the one and same replacements for the 194's , will throw some pics up later when I have the foot well and map lights replaced.  It is kinda ugly IMHO if you do just the foot wells as the yellow light from the map lights clashes with the whiter led's , best to do both.
