This quick guide is how to inspect/clean/replace the hose coming from the airbox to the crankcase. Purple marked hose

Buy a FUEL LINE DISCONNECT I've seen them for around 10 bucks online. I overpaid at a local store.
its' the 5/16" and 3/8" size. There is a larger one that won't work on our car.

There's all different types. This is the one I got:

Stick it in, push up, might have to tap it a bit, and pull. It's not easy but just kinda play with it and it'll come out.

When you look inside you understand why the tool is shaped that way. This end looks clean. You can dip it in something that is meant to clean out oil if you need. But if there is oil in this line, you may have big problems.

This is the other end. Mine was clean.

Taking off the other side is easy, just slide the white thing over and it comes right off. That is the check valve. The air flows away from the airbox into the engine.

While you have it off, blow into each end to make sure air is only flowing in the right direction.

Kenny,
nice write up.  This PCV issue is finally getting a bit more understood.  Thanks for the heads up.  I will look around for this part and give a check of my line soon, especially since I have the same oil you did in the intake.  Your oil fill adjustment made all the difference for you right?

Kenny

S you are saying you do need these tool on the intake[PCV]  side of that line?
That's the side I need to pull off so I can remove the OEM plastic part, and install my Dejon lower intake pipe.

The intake side is NOT the pcv valve it's the check valve. The PCV is inside the intake manifold which is in the thread about chucks smoke.  You only need the tool for what I show in the picture.

I was using your picture to describe the side I am referring to.
The letters PCV are on the connector I need to remove.

Oh crap. that digram is out of date. Didn't realize it. You can take the check valve off with your finger for the stock airbox. Not sure how the connection is done to aftermarket intake.
