Norm's Fenders
« on: June 29, 2014, 10:57:21 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has a set of Norm's ZR1 style fenders on their car ? I'm looking to reduce underhood temps after installing my Hann kit last fall and I just don't like the open look of the vented ones plus they look very similar to the fenders that were on 69 Trans Ams and I trying to keep the Pontiac look on my car.Are these truly bolt on with no major installation issues as I have read with some other vendors ? Thanks!

While I don't have these fenders, I do have Norm's rear fascia on my Sky and if his fenders are anything like the fascia, they are a work of art. Send Norm a message and ask him about the installation. I'm sure he's made them as close to the same as the factory installation as possible. His work is amazing!
The road to success is always under construction.

RacerX who sold his car was the first owner of these fenders. He pops up every once in a while. To answer your question on installation, the go on just like stock. Except much lighter. If you hood and door have not been adjust for any reason, they will sit right in with ease.

To be or not to be hard, that is the question. I prefer my top off and still hard when I need it.

ZR1 fenders??? Are you referring to the below? If so, I have a set on my Sky and am absolutely thrilled with them. Besides looking pretty darn awEsome, they do vent some of the heat from the engine bay. Some may question if venting the hot air is a good thing, but from many many miles with them, I've suffered no ill effects (but received plenty of compliments).

Those are the ones Norm, will be mailing out a payment for a set tomorrow . You should call them Trans Am fenders as they look very similar to the  ones that came on the first Trans Ams in 1969 that's what sold me on them.

They look awesome. When you get them we need pictures and I'll put a few of them up on Norm's site as well if you have no objection.

I talked to Norm's daughter last week and she said it would be around 3 weeks to get the fenders as Norm makes them as the order comes in went over today to talk to my painter and he told me that with the fenders and some minor touch ups I would be looking at a week to get my stuff painted so hopefully sometime in early August and yes I will be posting pictures
