I too dug my GXP out and started to use it again not long ago. It however didn't sit for 6 months unused as I will drive it during the winter if the weather is nice and the roads are salt, ice, and puddle free, I think I drove it once in January.
I'm not sure what you gain by turning the engine over without starting it just to move the oil around. If there is no oil on the bearing surfaces wear is still going to take place whether your just cranking it or you start it. If there were no oil on the bearing surfaces I would be more worried about rust forming on them as rust will cause a lot more damage. That being said I have pulled apart engines that haven't been run for literally years and there is always some oil on the bearings, sometimes there is rust too but your car has only set for 6 months and you should be using a high quality oil.
Also the starter on our cars is computer controlled and I don't know what might happen if you disable the injectors/coil and then try to crank it over. Assuming that you can safely crank the engine with the ignition and injectors disabled you probably should remove the spark plugs so that the starter motor has an easier time turning the engine over, less wear and tear on the starter and battery.
Personally I think you will be doing more work then its worth to disable things just to crank the engine over for a few seconds. Something else to consider did you add an oil pressure gauge? If not how will you know if you have any oil circulating through the engine, I don't think that the idiot light really tells you anything while you are cranking the engine over.
I would, and did when I started using mine again, give the car a good going over check all the fluid levels, look under the car for any signs of a leak, check the tires for proper pressure and test out the lights to make sure that they work then get in and start the engine and go for a drive. You might want to do a brake check before you get to any real speed and then just enjoy the car.
