AZ autocross
« on: June 21, 2010, 12:41:02 AM »
Had an event today...I ended up having top time in the Street Tire category, but I think I ended up 3rd just behind another Sky in BS (damn you BSP PAX!).  In AZ, we are limited with the locations we can run.  Luckily for us, some of the Tucson region guys got us into Marana Regional Airport.  It's the largest stretch of asphalt we got (1350ft x 750ft).

Pretty long course today.  On the course walk, I wasn't really feeling like it would be a good day but after the first run it made a ton more sense.   The first vid is from a hard mount attached to the silver trim between the buttresses. Quick note - it looks like the car is loading a ton under heavy braking and acceleration but it is actually the camera not being 100% tight in the mount; it just kept bucking up and down.  Nothing a few pennies can't fix.

And now from the helmet.  This was a TO run, so I was just having fun.  I don't normally run with AC/DC blasting on the stereo, but it makes for a fun video  ;)

Next stop:  This weekend at El Toro Airfields for the SoPac regional.  It will also be my first time on hoosiers

It was fun watching your 'eyes" in the second video seen where you were going to go not where you were going.

Do you mean looking ahead or not controlling the car well enough?

The ContourHD comes with a circular mount and a rectangular mount.  The rectangular mount isn't sticky on the bottom side, but theres an extra double-sided sticky pad that I put on first.  It's on the silver trim just in front of the decklid.  It's REALLY stuck on there.
