Some folks have had this issue in the past ,  coming to a stop the car feels like the breaks are coming on jerking the occupants forward. Had this happen a couple of times yesterday, first time. This has been discussed on the Solstice forum as a common issue with the automatics.

http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f12/automatic-transmission-problems-51495/index2.html

In some cases cleaning the MAF has fixed the issue , some have had the camshaft position actuator solenoid replaced. I will clean
the MAF first but wondering if someone knows where this solenoid unit is on the engine in case I need a new one. Apparently it can get dirty and act up as well causing this problem.

Update , cleaned the MAF, car running silky smooth now, both engine and tranny, maybe that was it. Still looking to find out where this camshaft actuator solenoid is on the engine if you know.

Thanks!

If you mean the cam position sensors, they're on top of the valve cover towards the front of the engine.

Joe,  I think he is talking about the actuator, which I believe is inside the engine, not the sensors.

Aware of the sensors at the top, this might help , what the actuator solenoid typically looks like:

I looked around but there are so many electrical connections hate to start popping stuff off in an attempt to find something that might not be so obvious.

This is a nice to know for me now as cleaning my MAF made the problem go away.  A little spray on  alcohol and all is well again. Funny how the software on these machines works,  transmission starts acting funny with a root cause in a contaminated MAF. In some ways I get it, having taken programming back in college , once you start getting outside normal parameters funny things happen between the ECM and TCM. Engine had just one code, P0172 , running rich, cleared now. Time will tell if there is more to this issue but engine and tranny working great for past two days.

Some suggest the MAF contamination comes from the K&N oiled filter, don't know, K&N says this is a urban myth. When you look at the actual sensors in the MAF they are so small just about anything could impact the info being sent to the ECM.  You can't see contamination with the your eye (at least not with  mine) as the sensor itself is tiny, tiny, tiny. Cheap fix cleaning the MAF off.
