Check valves are on their way to Canada (received)
« on: October 09, 2010, 06:59:43 PM »
As many of you are aware, the check valves to eliminate the intermittent overheating of our LNF engines are still in excess of $400 $24.75 each in Canada. I have yet to have the overheating problem with my 2008 GXP but it's best to be prepared.   :D

Ordered a pair of them from the US the other day and as they are less than $20 for the pair and I had them shipped USPS there will be no additional fees to get them across the border.

Total cost including the $15 shipping charge shipped directly to my home in Canada is $31.52 USD. There was a $5 shipping option offered but that didn't come with tracking. Didn't think that was wise.   :worms:

Bob already posted the GM pdf install and link to the parts here: http://www.kappaperformance.com/forum/index.php?topic=5362.msg73857#msg73857
But I agree, nice color high res photos would be better :)

But, I wasn't going to install them until I had a problem...   :cryin:

Need to find some "non silicone based tire lubricant" to install 'em.

Got the check valves today and I thought for a second that they forgot to ship them as the box was so small and light. Are those suckers ever TINY!

WOW, I can't believe they are charging what they are in Canada for something so small!

In this picture you will see the two check valves that I received in the mail today. They are still in the package (UPS bag) that GM must have shipped them to the dealer that I ordered them from. You can clearly see the part number that was written on the bag.

For scale I placed a pen beside the check valves and you will also see my daily allotment of almonds as well. (They say they're good for ya')

Those check valves are TINY. Heck, a lot of American Kappa owners likely have bullets bigger than these.   :poke:

Uh, that's it? $400 each, what are they made from unobtanium?

On a more serious note, in what line(s) do these get installed?

Just came from the dealer. The price of the check valves have come WAY down in Canada and they are now selling for $24.75 each. That's the list price so if you get any sort of discount they will be cheaper still.

Still way cheaper in the U.S. but for only two I don't know that it's worth ordering them from there when you can go down to your local dealer and pick them up.
