Ambient Temp PID on DashHawk reading -40
« on: August 26, 2014, 02:49:59 PM »
Usually a -40 display reading means intermittent connection so I'm guess its the sensor
Just started displaying -40 today for the Ambient air temp.  The Intake Air Temp PID is working and I'm not throwing any codes.  The MAF has the Intake air temp sensor in it but changed the MAF out with a Spare one I have with the same result.
Anyone know where the sensor is located on an 07 Solstice GXP?

THANKS

I believe it's on the front of the radiator housing under the airbox

So Ill need to take off the plastic air dam thing that directs the air to the AC condenser and radiator?

As far as I can tell, the Solstice doesn't have an ambient sensor - rather, it's derived from intake temps by the ECM.

This is where it is on the Sky (part #4) - perhaps you can check on your car?

If its derrived its freaking accurate as hell.  My truck has a temp sensor and it reads the same as my trucks temp sensor.
Thanks TS

Works today. :-)
Its gotta be a sensor or its coincidence because on Monday i pulled the shround open to access the top of the AC and radiator coils and sprayed water to clean both out.  The next day the issue manifested itself and now its gone .  The only engine bay items that got wet were the AC Condensor and Radiator.
