I purchased this intake and have a question. I want to use another filter (see pic below) for pure aesthetics. I did a search and found a dry filter I like and the dimensions are really close. The inside diameter is 3" and the intake pipe has a 2 3/4" outside diameter. To make the filter work I need to add something around the pipe that is 1/4" thicker that will also be stable. I thought about tape but I think that thickness will "move around" over time. Any ideas?

You can get a silicone adapter to maybe go between the 2, however if you do it, please make sure you can datalog your fuel trims to make sure the filter change is not causing and turbulence at the MAF. We are using the filters we are using because they internally have a velocity stack and it allows the air entering the intake to be nice and smooth and give a good reading at the MAF. If you use that filter, I have no idea what the MAF will read, so please check it.
