Topic: UPDATED: Southern MD Mod Meet 5 - Weekend of 23 May

It appears the next meet will be the weekend of October 11 (SMMM6) with the Columbus holiday.  That way people will have monday off...  Goat and XSKYTED both brought pulled pork.  Both were awesome.

Count Jeff and me in for this one too!! I can certainly bring pork again (but this time I want to try Lil'Goat's) or something else, definitly crab soup and like I said pumpkin cream cheese rolls...by the way, whoever made the coconut cake it was AWESOME!! Great recipe!!!!!!! Please make another!!!!

haha!  I gotta see what sort of house I'll get.  Doubt I have quite your tool collection, Joe.  If nothing else, I'll bring a brisket and/or some ribs out of the smoker.

Not sure what happened to the extra pulled pork I left, we only ate half on Friday there was 14 lbs. I think next time I will do pit beef (smoked sirloin roast), I have some in the fridge now. It cooks much faster than the pork and has to be sliced very thin but it rocks. On breakfast I tried to do something that could be made in a big batch, bacon and eggs doesn't work so well, leaves someone working in the kitchen. Grits and country ham can be done and just kept warm as people want to eat. I will be at 6 hopefully longer this time, and Joe put me down for the cabin please, ha got my reservation in early.

Hey goat, I have a great way to make omelets for 10-15 people at once and ya only use a big spagetti pot.  

Pre cook lots of stuff for interior; sausage, bacon, onion, mushrooms, green peppers.
Beat a bunch of eggs with salt and pepper added.
lay out all the stuff in bowels and lay out magic marker and plastic zip lock bags.

Each person puts whatever they like in a plastic bag which they write their name on and then adds a 1/2 cup of egg to the bag.   Zip it up.

When they are all ready, dump in in boiling water in the big pot (can use a outdoor crab cooker) and after 10 min,  read the names out and each person dumps em on a paper plate.

It sounds crazy but works really well.

If you promise not to use bowels, you can make omelets Chuck, I will make biscuits and grits, country ham is pretty easy it can be done long before and just heated. Really good on a biscuit! It is just so dang expensive for old salty ham.

Yeah - put me down for MMM6 too Joe!  Is there another bed in the cabin I can take?  I am guessing after Joye watching Don and I slaving in the hot sun all day that I will be flying solo for the next Mod Meet!  I make some mean belgian waffles - they taste great with red eye gravy on top too!

Chuck could always do "chitlings" with his bowels...isn't that a southern dish?

wow, I'm not sure the cabin will be available as the current renter is adding another room mate.  I won't know until August if there is any space left.

I was mostly just messing with Joe, I am amenable to almost anything, I can camp out in the yard easily enough. I am thinking maybe we need a NO MOD meet sometime before October, where we just get together and hang out, go swimming go to the beach and the Tiki Bar. NO MODS, just hang out with Joe and Dee, and JR. and party, a fun run of course too. we could get crabs from Chandler's

That sounds fun...the traffic home was so bad....it took me 7 hours to get home, and it would have been worse if I had left a little later.  As soon as we hit Staten Island, it got really bad.  That is typical NY for you.
