Topic: Quaife diff

I've replaced my diff fluid and friction modifier and still have a whine (sounds like turbo spool but it isn't) and I'm considering replacing the diff with a Quaife unit and would appreciate hearing from anyone that has done this. Curiuos to know if you ran into any big issues. I've read about some shimming issues which seem minor to me but other than that, all I've found are positive things.

Jim, try to send a PM to Yamatr3, he has one on his Solstice V8 car and very happy with it.

Once you go Quaiffe, you won't go back.  it is 10X better than the stock diff.  It is hard to get the car to spin out of a corner with the Quaiffe.  I could get the car to spin so easy going around a corner with the stock diff.  The Quaff gets the rear end to hook up so much better. 

I was one of the first to do the Quaiffe, and had to change a bearing as it was not correct from new.  It was a simple fix though.  They do take some fine tuning to get correct, but once there, they are great.

Hello Group:  I have a 2.4L NA Solstice that is a race car in road racing.  I want to replace the rear end to a 4.10 gear.  I am not concerned with fule efficiency and just want better low end torque.  Anyone know where i can get a 4.10 rear end.

Maybe search for a ring and pinion gear set for a 2005 Cadillac CTS, that should drop in if they make it in 4.10

Thank you Steelmesh.  Will do.  What I have seen is that the rear end in a cadillac go lower not higher.  Anyway, I will look harder
