Oh definitely. And other than machine work that I cannot possibly do, I am pretty insistent on doing all of this work myself.

Buying a built motor would be cheaper and easier, but screw that!

Well since I'm still waiting for the motor to come back from the machine shop, I decided to throw on the Werks "canyon carver" brake upgrade. All in all, it was a simple task, but time consuming due to the rotors being basically rusted to the wheel hub. The calipers themselves will get stripped and repainted next week. Its not much, but it is a welcome change finally installing new parts to the car.

Another night in the garage. I hate valve trains. Alas, its installed. 82lb springs, titanium retainers, stage 2 cams, ported heads, inconel .5mm oversized valves with seats cut to match.

The pictures look great and you describe as a nice setup and a job done, I don't understand why you hate valves :D

I had to get clever with the universal overhead valve compressor. I bought one of those fairly cheap bits off amazon and it bolted up nicely, i just had a very hard time levering the spring down with one hand, then placing the keepers with the other.

Solution? Wrap a rope around the handle and around my leg. Worked like a charm! It took an hour to install the first valve. By the 16th, I was down to under 2 minutes.

I didnt record it, but Ill try to do something when I disassemble the rest of the old head. Definitely have some bent valves in that one.

Also, anyone want to buy a set of brand new pwerks springs? I didnt realize the zzp ported head came with Ti retainers and 82lb springs.

Its been a minute since my last update due to a hectic professional life. I havent been documenting as much as Id like, but theres great youtube videos available.

The block is all together and timing starts soon. The only difficulty was keeping everything completely clean.

Fueling is a go! Stage 2 cam with lobe, opel injectors, and an LT1 fuel pump!

That sensor on HPFP is gonna hot the manifold.

Spin it 180

Oh and the fuel line is going to hit the wiper linkage under the cowl...

Yeah, im gonna be playing with a tube bender later this week. I ran out of time thurs after timing the motor and mounting the turbo.
