MADMODS Passing
« on: March 12, 2018, 10:05:20 AM »
Saw this on FB so I thought I would post it here from Martin

It saddens me today to say that the Kappa Community has lost one of our own, Paul (MAD-Mods) Q. passed away this week in his Arizona Home... For those of you who were around in the very beginning on the forums you may remember MAD-MODS and his love for modding the Solstice. This was back in a time where there simply were not any aftermarket parts for these cars...this bothered Paul so he took it upon himself to work with companies like Werks to build a Turbo kit for the 2.4L...and when he thought the Solstice would look great with a Ferrari 430 inspired front end he bought a Ferrari 430 front bumper and sent it to Norms which is why we now have this part for everyone to enjoy... Paul was a real car guy who had a deep passion for the Kappa platform... I took Paul to SEMA two years in a row as our guest and from there he was able to network with companies raising awareness for the Kappa platform... Paul was proud of his Solstice even showing up at the Fast and Furious 4 filming location telling the talent scouts that "they needed to put his car in the movie"...and they did! Paul finished his Solstice and eventually sold it off to start new projects... Paul was always the life of a party when he showed up to National and Regional Meets... Paul will be missed especially by those of us who called him our friend....

Hahaha!  I remember he fell asleep in his car!  He was a fun guy!  I remember he was up in the Texas party room and we enjoyed a few!

I used to know his last name...can't remember it for the life of me.  I was wondering what happened to him also when I saw the news on FB.  May he RIP.

Ah man so sad to hear. I was at his house a couple of times in 2011 buying his parts when he split out. He was a nice guy and love modifying. His coral of cars were pretty interesting.

I met Paul and got to check out his Solstice at the Nationals when it was in Las Vegas.  Decent guy.  Rest in Peace.
