Sorry to hear that Chris,  the VVT works on oil pressure and in one of your posts you mentioned sludge during a oil drain and change.  You might need to flush your engine.

What all are they replacing?
Did change the oil but was told that a flush on this engine could be dangerous so I decided not to. The previously mentioned issues are gone but now it's the timing chain.

Got it back from the dealer! Everything is fixed... Sort of. Now there's another problem. It's leaking what seems to be transmission fluid!!!

Edit: noticed the power steering fluid is also red and oily. It makes for sense for that to be it since they had to remove it while working on it.

Did they say what all they did to it?  Is it leaking or did they  spill and not do a good clean up?

Went back to the dealer, and they said it was residual. Quite hard to believe since it dumped a lot of fluid into my driveway, but it has stopped. My freakouts are ending because the car is running great now and no problems right now. Thank you all.
